A beautifully written piece. It paints a pretty vivid picture of the monkey business that's afoot in Cape Town. You just gotta love the mischievous references to the invading species sprinkled here and there in the work. I'm surprised he missed this one (and you can expect a guy like Jakumo to pick it up):

Jakumo:
Please do NOT panic, residents of Cape Town. Your beautiful city will NOT be re-named Ape Town, regardless of what mischief those baboons perpetrate.

That is what happens when you encroach on animals natural habitat. They would not come searching for food in the apartments if their forest was providing.

moby is the platoon leader - the residents should lace their food with laxatives. once they feel sick, they won't return to the estate.....these animals can hurt children if care is not taken!

I guess we proved the Americans wrong, the revolution of the apes is starting here in Africa and not in America like it was portrayed in the movie.

They should provide some food for the baboons where they can al go and eat rather than allow them raid the houses. I witness monkeys do same in Durban only if you leave your window or doors open.

A bit of education here. Baboons are monkeys; not apes. One thing about an ape is that it has no tail. Once you see a tail, then it is NOT an ape.

It is not everybody that is so desperate for meat to the point of eating baboons. Those that crave for meat like that are the incapable that can't domesticate mere chickens, sheep, cows or goats in abundance.
really, u think so. Go to china, they domesticate chicken and the rest u mentioned but still eat frogs. I wonder if u have any point in wht u said at all?
