I sat down in church today and listened to the
priest as he reflected on the topic "Vanity
upon vanity,all is vanity" from
Ecclesiastes.The church was quiet,everybody
listened with rapt attention.As the priest
explained further, I was in my pew asking
myself, why all the hustle? Why all the
stress? Since we all will die and leave
everything behind.. I realised that he was
telling us the truth, there is no need to be
obssesed by possessions.Get me right,
possessions are good but it is wrong to be
obsessed by them, making them lord over us,
allowing our possessions to control us to the
extent of being insatiable, wanting more
possessions even the ones we don't need. Learn
to make good use of your possessions to the
greater good of humanity, share with others
and remember,if you die, you will leave all
behind, and the living will enjoy it.Enjoy your
life and money when you still can, buy good
clothes, go on vacation, eat well, share with
others and hoard less.
