patches689: Some civlian ships use the naval dock yard. These include Fish trawlers, Tugs, cargo ships, supply ships, research ships, private boats, extra. Though the number is low and the ships are handled by the SAN. And there is a lot of paperwork that is needed. all so to the right of the yellow zone there is a second smaller area where the NAVY keeps small craft. 1 Like |

ActivateKruger: Fyi,Idi didn't do a fraction of the crimes he was accused of! The usual suspects planned the coup to oust Obote for 2 reasons: -he was making rude noises about UK support for SA. -to control the source of the Nile and put pressure on Egypt Amin was a patriot! He expelled the Asuians after their group refusal to drop their UK citizebnship. The killings that took place were instigated by Tutsis and other ethnic saboteurs. Slater reports that the man who knows all about the coup is Colonel Bar-Lev, the Israeli defence attaché - the ambassador was away. Quoting Bar-Lev as the source, Slater reports: "In the course of last night, General Amin caused to be arrested all officers in the armed forces sympathetic to Obote ... Amin is now firmly in control of all elements of [the] army ... the Israeli defence attaché discounts any possibility of moves against Amin."http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/african-tyrant-the-truth-about-amin-6229173.html He was never a cannibal or buffoon. In fact like Obote he repeatedly wanted to return home from Jedda and clear his name. Fyi,I actually met some close family members in N Uganda a decade ago. You should be wiser and know the smell of Anglo Zionist bs,by now. He's with Col Bar lev,Golda Meir ex PM and being presented with a mini UZI-they were once tight! As always things soured with the Chosenites when he chose justice for Palestinians as you see him with Gaddaffi-he swore if they all didn't leave he'd turn them over to the PLO whom he hosted free in Kampala!

patches689: Nigeria uses a a lot of wepaons from AK, FN, Tavour, extra extra. Made in a lot of countries. The fire arms made in Nigeria are AK style, FAL copies, G3 copies, BM 59 copies, for rifels, the all so make a M12 SMG copy and a HI POWER for a pistol. they all so make FN mag and RPG,s. Though to be honest i wonder how much they make of each. I suspect they focus on the AK,s and the rest as needed. Either way Nigeria is finaly able to make domestic small arms. |

Napalm, anyone? Idk why we don't use this primo area weapon? Not as a flame thrower-too heavy and unwieldy! We use cluster bombs and ordinary dumb bombs in Africa apart from the Rhodies who had their own version called Frantam, which was thickened petroleum jelly mixed with aluminum flakes. The latest version ,Napalm B,shown here in the treeline, burns hotter and longer. odern napalm is known as "Napalm B." It is distinctly different than the napalm used in past conflict such as Vietnam and World War II. Napalm B is made of different chemicals than the napalm of the past. However, despite its different characteristics, Napalm B is often referred to by military personnel simply as "napalm."https://www.thebalance.com/napalm-still-used-as-a-weapon-3345094 Haiyya! It seems Naij used it against the Ibos! Napalm has been used recently in wartime by or against: Iran (1980–1988), Israel (1967, 1982), Nigeria (1969), Brazil (1972), Egypt (1973), Cyprus (1964, 1974), Argentina (1982), Iraq (1980–1988, 1991, 2003 - ?), Serbia (1994), Turkey (1963, 1974, 1997), Angola, France (1946-1954, 1954-1962), United States.T Shttp://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Napalm I hear Russia has a version that melts brick!?

newafricaken254: Err,no,actually. Approval for gun ownership, especially handguns is still very very difficult. I know of a deputy CID boss whom applied on retirement -and was denied!? Btw,no reasons are given. IIRC,just after the Westgate thing when private gun onwers were instrumental in helping recapture the mall noises were made about finally instituting a FAIR national firearms bureau-nothing came of it. |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by patches689: 5:41pm On Nov 08, 2017 |
kikuyu1: Flame throwers are illegal. Russians get around it because TOS systems and Shmel RPG's are thermabolic, which is not expressly prohibited. I question the effectiveness of TOS because after brief appearances on the field in Iraq and Syria (both of whom actually own them) they very quickly disappeared from the front (Syrians had theirs near Homs, and it hasnt been seen in months, Iraqi's had theirs on the road to Mosul, but it has also since vanished)- while the classic MRLS with HE warheads remain ubiquitous. Shmel is obviously a nifty niche weapon - Engineers getting rid of pesky bunkers, or SF raiding supply-dumps or air-feilds. But as a niche weapon, I dont see much place for it amongst the rank-and-file. Here, the worlds most exhausted Russian demonstrates the Shmel for us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nKIJChgFvs |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by patches689: 5:44pm On Nov 08, 2017 |
kikuyu1: Because its in the dry bush-veldt - a flame thrower would set everything on fire and your entire battle-feild would turn into a raging inferno, which would end up being a major headache for BLUFOR as well as OPFOR. |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by andrewza: 5:49pm On Nov 08, 2017 |
patches689: Flame throwers are not illegal that myth stems from a poor under standing of the laws of armed conflict. In short you can't use them in populated civilian areas. Flame throws are bested suited in close combat and most close combat is in built up civilian areas. But they very much legal and in use with a few contries like China. The TOS are in few numbers so they probably cost a lot to use. Combined with limited range and you see why they not used often. They mean to basically blast a area before it is attacked. All so the SMAW system all so fires a thermobaric round, along with the RPG 7 and other launchers. |

patches689: That was the one issue, other issue is it would just burn a small patch killing g less than if a bomb was used and not stopping people going around it. It a great tool for jungle warfare not for Bush or desert warfare. |

According to the recent 2018 Nigerian Appropriation Bill, Nigeria is going to pay in instalments for the three JF-Thunder. Meaning the deal was never cancelled only delayed. http://www.budgetoffice.gov.ng/index.php/2018-budget-proposal 1 Like
