Interesting article.

The raid also included the extremely long-distance movement of forces via multiple C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft flights and the employment of a quartet of both CV-22B Osprey tilt-rotors and MC-130 special operations transports

Money is good mehn

Ezugwu MRAP from DICON is looking really good!

Would definitely give Proforce a run for the money.

The improvements on this model, especially when compared to the first iteration are light years apart.

This might as well be the NAC-V cos the vehicle movement seems light.

US special forces will operate in Egypt, all depends on the agreement made, the US just don't send their troops in without consent from the Govt, unless if they believe that Govt is complicit in the matter, other than that, it will be done in a low key way, in other words, if the US did this in Egypt, i guarantee you no one in the media will hear about it. These guys carry out such operations, we don't hear about half of them.
In the case of Egypt, they will insist it's kept secret, in other not to appear weak.

We should all be quick to condemn The NA when they commit atrocities
Just as quick to congratulate The NA when they excel spectacularly well
Ezugwu Version 3/4/5/6 grin is a beauty.... Hats off
Ezugwu keeps impressing....I no fit lie

They are coming along nicely, the pace at which we are progressing in MRAP development always surprises me.

The amount of assets moved for just one raid is quite surprising.

that c-17 aircraft doesn't relate to this incident..
Note: the C-17 was seen like September.
The American was kidnapped in late October like last two weeks and not even in Nigeria but Niger this is the mistake many people are making hence causing them to say irrelevant things.
And I also don't think they deployed such large amount of aerial asset into Nigeria but in their base in Niger republic

Nigerian made Proforce Defence ARA MRAPs ordered by the Nigerian army heading to the North-East.

To date we know the Nigerian army has so far ordered 30 units of ARA II MRAPs, and an undisclosed number of earlier versions of the ARA MRAP.

The US rescued Philip Walton in now back in Niger. Lol. Scammm..

If you were kidnapped like that, would you return so soon.
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by rka1: 3:03pm On Nov 02, 2020
For people having a breakdown because of the rescue in Nigeria, it has happened many times in other countries.

"White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Fox News that the Trump administration had over the years rescued 55 hostages in 24 countries."

Trump only announced this one because of the US elections and hunt for votes. In other words, a typical politician.

Someone that was rescued with guns, has returned so soon. No shock or trauma. No fear for insecurity, no fear of life if another kidnap happens.

He has returned back to gathering intel for his bosses. He is back on the Nigeria-Niger border.

Soldier dies attempting to rescue Katsina nursing mother.

Troops of the Operation Sahel Sanity based in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State have lost a soldier who tried to rescue a nursing mother during a gun duel with bandits at Diskuru village.

The troops, however, killed five bandits and rescued three kidnapped women and their babies during the encounter on Thursday, October 29, 2020

Thank you for this. Nigerian army and Navy SBS have conducted many rescue operations on land and ship. And we are proud of them.

Ara II and the latest variants of the Ezugwu MRAPs are some of the most advanced military hardwares produced in Nigeria.

While we have seen massive improvements in MRAP design and production, we have not made any movement in the production of offensive weaponry, that is, Infantry Fighting Vehicles or Armored Fighting Vehicles.

APCs or MRAPs are mainly defensive systems, we need to take a leap of faith, go into the production of advanced fighting vehicles.

ARA II and Ezugwu family of Vehicles already provide a good base platform for an IFV.

We can arm them with 20mm - 30mm guns for a start, while a new IFV purposed vehicle is developed and manufactured.

It's a sanctions problem, not a money problem. I will look for that link and post it.

It can't just be a sanctions problem. The sanctions target specific individuals and their companies. How do you explain Egypt, Algeria and others receiving equipment they bought in Russia?

Algeria receives additional Migs.

I'm really impressed with the guys at SVI Engineering!

SVI enhances MAX 3 armoured vehicle

SVI Engineering has improved its MAX 3 low cost armoured personnel carrier with a slew of upgrades. The response has been so positive that the original prototype was sold even before series production had started.

In addition to upgraded brakes and suspension to improve go-anywhere ability and ride comfort, the vehicle is modified with an armoured cab with B6 ballistic level standard protection (against 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm assault rifles), but this can be upgraded to B7 and blast protection.

The MAX 3 can be fitted with a range of additional equipment, including the Thales Scorpion 60/81 mm automated mortar, 12.7 mm pintle mount or 12.7 mm Rogue Lite remotely operated weapon station. One customer has already ordered the Scorpion system for its vehicles.

The conversion process entails removing the soft-skin body of the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 and replacing it with a new all steel body manufactured from armour plate. The armoured construction of the vehicle provides a minimum protection of EN1063 BR6 with additional protection against anti-personnel mines.
