Video gone viral in EU and USA, why is the world criticizing NDA training? This is Nigeria's military training tradition, we owe nobody any apology. Nigerian soldiers are very tough and strong physically. Let the Europeans and Americans try copy Nigerian soldiers and see them collapse. Nigerians troops compare body stamina with the likes of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese troops, not these hamburger-cheese burger eating NATO soldiers.....we eat eba or akpu ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_LJfkLMUMg . 1 Like

agaugust: Drownproofing Training (U.S. Navy SEALs) Trainees endure surf torture, also called "cold water conditioning," while covered in mud. They then have their arms and legs bound as a part of "drownproofing." They must bob up and down twenty times, float for five minutes, swim to the shallow end of the pool, turn around without touching the bottom, swim back to the deep end, do a forward and backward somersault underwater, and retrieve a face mask from the bottom of the pool.

africaken254: US Navy Seals are special forces not regular troops. africaken254: Special forces/Elite forces are different from regular troops. The woman is not even in the army, she is a Nigerian air force regular and probably even non-combatant, yet see her tough training drills at NDA. They don't do that in NATO regular courses for regular troops. Reason why they call it torture in USA and EU. |

bidexiii: Yes I agree, I know harsh weather and terrain conditions of desert war compels Nigerian troops to loosen up their clothing and yes it makes them look rough and unprofessional, but the irony is that they are being professional by checkmating the heat, sand, dust problem of NE semi desert war zone. MikeCZAR: cadets punishment/discipline is not alien to any military training in the world. you guys don't have an idea what goes on in most training academies inbthe world. you have never been soldiers that's why you would scream abuse. drop it alright. i have seen stories of worst commited by US trainers on their cadets. worst enough to be considered bullying and abuses. it's not your business so move on. they are training soldiers not boys scouts http://m.courier.co.uk/Army-Cadets-abused-Crowborough-training-camp/story-17123533-detail/story.html https://www.rt.com/usa/female-cadets-sexual-assault-041/ “I believe that they had been doing it for a while. It makes me sick and saddened inside. It really, really, does. I was told that the cadets had their own internal investigation, but I’m not aware of what happened,” she added https://www.rt.com/uk/218351-mod-compensation-abuse-cadet/ Mind you, the media gets wind of it doesn't mean it stops. You blokes should investigate yours and you'll understand what i'm saying Nigerian soldier recieving treatment on the battlefield 1 Like

Planting is just some of the obligatory nonsense drills to imply they make soldiers better. The supporters would also tell you that second video with horsewhips and cane is another to make them better. It's part of what makes a few turn out to be sadists after army camp with that brutality. 1 Like |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by stillchris: 9:51am On Mar 17, 2016 |
BlackBaron: that's what disciplinary commitees or whatever other countries call it are there for. every soldier in the world goes through inhumane treatment in training. and every soldier in the world is a potential rights abuser (it's not exclusive to Nigeria). however, it is the responsiblity of the disciplinary body to reign in on soldiers who do such. neither you nor i are in the position to judge what goes on in these training academies cos you can't tell me the top brass don't know about it. they as well went through it and it's part of what made them men. if you are a Nigerian graduate and have passed through NYSC camp (not lagos and other soft ones) you'll know what i'm saying. i thougt i was stubborn till i was fvcked up along with a few guys in front of the whole camp for dodging morning drills(imagine in front of those fine girls). part of that and a lot more changed my orientation, toughened me for real bro. |

stillchris:that hazing doesn't even help even if your captured ,believe me i know .tell me your a graduate with a background in technical course ,would you bother undergoing such hazing when you easily find better paying jobs in the private sector .thats why most african armies can't keep to the standard of most armies in the world and are unprofessional |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by stillchris: 11:00am On Mar 17, 2016 |
africaken254: lol. i have to disagree though. our armies are not unprofessional because of what they went through in training. i just proved to you that even the most professional militaries do worse to their recruits. so you should laying emphasis on Africa. i believe what makes us seem unprofessional is lack of money, laws to guide against abuses etc.. so would you call the US, UK military unprofessional for their abuses in iraq and afghanistan? for your question, a lot of graduates who had other options, despite being aware of these things still enroll for the short service course. just cos you don't have the mind to bear it doesn't mean others can't let's leave this matter abeg. 1 Like
