And how aren't we alluding to the same conclusion? A NAF-owned aircraft in the operational area would not be piloted by a non-Nigerian.

You were answering a questions i wasn't asking.

The color of a pilot doesn't explain how and estimated 7 hellos dissapeared from service, actually my guess is that they were never in service. The 72 mobile strike force had its own dedicated air wing formed with these helos, so when the trainers/ contractors left, the helos left with them.

Yes, this is the correct assesment.

Executive Outcomes were renowned for bringing their own toys to the party. Since its the same group with a different name, I dont see why they would change their practices.

How they got such toys on such short notice is the real question.

Point of correction, not people, people is a broad term. Your question should be why do South-Africans display so much stupidity and type bullshiit in this thread?.

My solution is, you ignore them, let them remain in the dump they belong. It works well for me.

Yes, god forbid we have a diversity of opinions on here.

Go to beegeagles blog if you want an circle-jerk of agreement.

Picture very much related

We used these at the section level. Problem is that you need a dedicated (x-tra) rifleman for it. We tried running it with a rifle and it's not pleasant.
When you run with it on your back it feels like Floyd Mayweather is punching you in the kidneys and if you have to dive for cover it comes flying off your back and into the back of your head.

You really need to attach a grenadier to your squad/section for it or have it in a weapons platoon like the USMC. Alternatively you could let the section leader or 2IB run it, but they have a lot on their plate already when you are in contact.

kikuyu1:

If it were up to me this would be standard on the section level in every infantry formation. Truly a wonderful tactical innovation
man portable
explosive 40 mm grenades up to 300 m
simple construction and use with six shots

Whats not to like!!

At bolded, Why do people type bullshiit boldly The JF 17 is a work in progress. The JF17 may be inferior to the J10B but the JF17 block 3 specifications has proved the aircraft will be a huge game changer.

We are talking about existing platforms, 3.5 gen to be specific.

Tell me about it.

The names certain people around here give certain vessels always causes me to raise an eyebrow

Its not only naval terminology. Remember the recent contretemps about LSVs vs RDVs vs Spec ops vehicles? The thread went round and round everyone getting more and more po'd off till finally all were screaming , crying and throwing things?
All cause someone wouldn't or couldn't comprehend the obvious operational needs of each vehicle......IIRC at one stage we were lectured on the need for armouring your Hornet!!
That wasn't a good period for this thread.

When you're that deep into the business sourcing the equipment is not the problem I want to know how they transport them, you don't fit several helos into your suitcase and check in into the flight.

You're confusing yourself, somebody asked a sensible question based on the assumption that the helos belonged to NAF or AHQ, I gave my sensible opinion on the matter.

You simply pointed out the color of the pilot in the picture I posted, you didn't answer anything.

3.5 generation based on you low self esteem.

You're feeling so Insecured about the JF17 or what? Even if Nigeria will be getting a su35 I'm sure you will also have a negative comment.

Its your opinion anyway.

I did? And I thought it was the colour of his non-NAF uniform. And yes, the question mark at the end means I didn't answer anything. But, I'll bow to your version of my thoughts and motivations.

I've read somewhere that the equipment was ordered by the military of whatever host country EO was operating in and shipped out to them. The end-user was supposed to be the host country, but of course it was EO paying for the goods and taking charge of them once they arrived.

This was the case with the EO BMP-2s and Hinds in Sierra Leone. The shipping order from the country of origin (I think I remember it being Ukraine) stated that they were going to the Sierra Leone government.

Ouch! grin grin grin

Polish defence company BMP Poland was swindled out of €520 000 after paying 'consultancy fees' to a Ugandan conman who approached the company and offered to buy a wide range of military equipment on behalf of the Ugandan People's Defence Force (UPDF).

Its 3rd gen and still inferior to the J-10
**The JF-17 is not stealthy(that's a sure thing). But it does have roughly the same agility as an early-model F-16A..... An equivalent of F16.
**The JF-17 is probably a much better close-range dogfighter than the F-35 and many other current jets.
** JF-17 can spots a CM-400AKG anti-ship missile.
**plus many more.

Those are not the hallmarks of a 3rd Gen. Jet.

I think we just have to stop this 'dick comparison'. It's getting stale and outdated.

There u go again, why the but.t hurt especially when it comes to the precious J-17.

The world knows its a cheap useless fighter for low tech air forces.

I like this thread if you looking for a fight you cn take it to the other thread. tongue

Don't even try to compare the j-17 to a F-35 and soothe up your ego. Facts are facts here and I'm basing my argument on what the pakistanis have said themselves.

A j-17 will never even see a F-35 in a fight bcus it will be long dead.

From now on, all "Nigerian" equipment posted here must be accompanied by an invoice, proof of payment, bank slips, and DOD signature. So atleast we all know they actually belong to Nigeria, unlike those missing helis.
