I choose the middle option. 10 BTR-60s, the second LST would carry mainly LAVs. I'll say 15 - 20.

In reality, we have lost that capability. Although plans are in place to replace our LST's.

In my opinion, we require 2 Makassar type LPD's.

As for T-72, we have only 50 units, not even enough for Nigeria engagements. However this sort of intervention doesn't require heavy MBTs like the T-72 or Vickers.

The Scorpion light tank with it's 76mm gun is by far the more reasonable option.

Second vessel would only be able to contain roughly the same number of vehicles, still 10 BTR's and nearly 600 men is basically the Gambian army.

Nigeria has 50 T-72 's not 12. According to the the presidential committee investigating the arms deal 48 T-72 tanks as 2015.

The number does not include the units delivered in 2016, which the Ukrainian MoD confirms.
