Do Light-skinned Black Gals Have Life Easier Than Dark-skinned Gals? by 25more(f): 3:51am On Jun 01, 2008 |
at some point i think so and at some i don't. here is why i think so because the society as a whole have made us to believe that the fairer and lighter our skins are the better and more opportunities we will have. and thats probably explains why many black sisters have been hopelessly be bleaching their skins (even without any useful reasons but with so many damaging results) in order to attain that which the society desires and promotes as definition of "beauty". and thats why when a black sister and her lighter skin sister applies for the same job w/same credentials the lighter one is hired because she is seen or viewed as more "presentable" which will yield more benefits. the more fairer you are as they "claim" the more attentions you get. i don't think so because our skin color doesn't in any proven way describe our inner capabilities. it is just one of the features we have to camouflage our true inner expressions. and sometimes it baffles me why so many black beauties have lost their color richest in search of "whiteness" so what do you think? |

25%more: Maybe the job for the most part is looking for prostitutes and thinks the "fairer" people will attract more customers. What a load of bull! |

Last time I was in Nigeria, I over heard conversation about a major bank that only hired light skinned girls. . . . there was a funny story of a dark skinned girl who went with her light skinned friend to hand in job applications, the light skinned girl (who wasnt looking for a bank job) ended up with a position and the dark skinned girl didnt. It all boils down to society's idea of beauty, doesnt help that light skinned black women like Beyonce and Tyra Banks are standards most young girls look to. I'm light skinned my self but I have a dark skinned firend who is so beautiful with an amazing bone structure that i wish i was darker myself. Plus taking care of light skin is hell, ur spots are more visible, u cant get away with unshaven legs (its as obvious as black ink on whiteboard) and sun burns and dark patches are a pain. Ebony Rocks!!! |

sheniqua: I don't see how bleaching makes a person light, rather they look like rainbow colored monkey's. People that fall for bleaching are idiots that deserve to be made fools of. Most white people don't differentiate between light and dark as black is black. When blacks do though it is just so senseless. All I know is black don't crack and the darker you are the least likely you will stay crack. |

savanaha: On the contrary If done professionally, can be un-noticeable, the probelm is that beaching creams in the Nigerian market are cheap and from questionable sources, plus they are used wrong and quite frankly abused. . . sunscreen is practically non existent in the nigerian market, so most people don't use it. . . combine that with their cheap bleaching = rainbow cououred monkey |

HR.hotness: Bleaching in Nigeria is not done in a way where it makes sense for instance a noticeably dark person will bleach three or four shades lighter. All that mercury to make something illogical convincing. |

sheniqua: Even Nigerians here in America bleach and when they get so bugged down from work they can't the toll the mercury has taken is quiet disgusting. |

i am dark skinned and i love it cuz i get away with anything skin wise cuz my skin covers up my flaws. the society's perception of beauty is crazy . sometimes. i am aware that dark people are less regarded as attractive than light skinned people but truth be told, if an Oyibo person walked into a room and sees both a light skinned and dark skinned person, you are still Black to them! embrace your colour, i love mine . bleaching is too stressful |

no matter how y'all bleach u cant be paper white like michael, there's fair pretty gurls and dark pretty gurls, just as we got fair ugly gurls and dark ugly gurls period. for employers that go for fair skin, it seems your shallow minds are possessed by some alien demon, (old stupid fools), |

. It often comes as a surprise for people to discover that There is No Such Thing as a "Light Skinned Black" person! The term "Light Skinned Black" is nothing more that a racist oxymoron coined by White racial supremacists who tried to forcibly deny 'Mixed-Race' people who are of a Multi-Generational Multiracially-Mixed (MGM-Mixed) Lineage the right to embrace and openly acknowledge their full-ancestry AND to falsely label the Black bloodlines found in a Mixed-Race person's lineage as being a "tainted", "inferior" "contaminant" that destroyed all of their other lineage. Again, so-called "Light Skinned Blacks" are simply 'Mixed-Race' people who are from families that BOTH BECAME AND CONTINUALLY-REMAINED Mixed-Race THROUGHOUT their multiple generations. This is NOT stating or implying that having a LIGHT-Complexioned SKIN tone IS THE 'ONLY' (OR even a 'REQUIRED') PROOF of a person being OF MIXED-RACE LINEAGE. It's simply stating that the person's Light-complexioned skin coloring and tone is simply an Undeniable physical Proof Of the Fact that their family's Ancestral Lineage has been 'Continually' racially Admixed 'Throughout' the Generations (from the very first occurrence of "racial" admixing up to their very present generation of such -- ex. Griffe marries Metis, etc.). THE KEY to being MGM-Mixed* IS LINEAGE-CONTINUITY! In order to be MGM-Mixed*/Mixed-Race, one's ancestry MUST have BOTH BECOME & REMAINED (at least 25%) racially-admixed THROUGHOUT all of their family generations -- from the very first occurrence of admixture until their present generation! Simply having 1 or 2 "ancient-ancestors” who are said to have been of some “other race” and that are allegedly found "somewhere-down-the-line" (ex. a great-grand whatever of another "race" -- DOES NOT -- make anyone MGM-Mixed (or else nearly everyone found on the planet could (falsely) claim to be MGM-Mixed)! Being MGM-Mixed REQUIRES that one has "CONTINUITY-of-Admixture". (*Multi-Generational Multiracially-Mixed) THE racist 'ONE-DROP RULE' (ODR) WAS BANNED IN THE United States (U.S.) way back in 1967 by the U.S. Supreme Court (via the 'Loving vs. VA' court case). That decision struck down the 'VA Racial Integrity Act' (VRIA) & every 'Anti-Miscegenation Law' (AML) in the U.S. -- AS WELL AS the racist, 'One-Drop Rule' (ODR) on which both the VRIA & the AMLs were based! There's been NO 'ONE-DROP RULE' (ODR) in the U.S. SINCE 1967! Thus, there is NO SUCH THING as a "Light-Skinned Black" person (these people are Mixed-Race from families that have been racially-admixed throughout many generations). The AAs are a largely Mixed-Race^ ETHNIC group composed ONLY of , "The 'Descendants-Of-The-Survivors' Of the Targets of the antebellum-era continental U.S. chattel-slavery system". [^The Lineage of MOST (+70%) AAs contains +20-30% European & +25% Amerindian THROUGHOUT the line.
