CAMEROONPRIDE: shut up that hole u call mouth ...do they stop the their chirurgical operation to pray the rosary? we are not talking about a break here, we are talking about someone leaving his position to do something else , something meaningless and def not worth doing . like many people said why did he take the job that day?LWKMD! What's your biz with Ramadan? Ramadan is a religious obligation of Muslims. This one you seem interested in it, hope no problem? Who are you to call Muslims pretenders? Muslims sometimes amaze me. Why did he take up the officiating job when he knew he was fasting? or at least he could have waited till halftime since the match was already 30 minutes gone. Reasons like this is why I don't normally blame FIFA when they don't invite African referees to officiate in competitions. |

xykms101: Religious bigots. I wonder Neither could he hold off ill after the game to break the fast, abi there is a set time to eat and one must eat at that particular time. Are there no non fasting referees The bible says when you fast it is private between you and your God and warns us not make a show f it like the Pharisees or else it is useless and meaningless Muslims on the other hand make a show of their fasts ,wear a sunken face and announce it to those who want to know and those who don't that they are fasting Everybody has to hear about their fast and the methodology They will even arrest or beat up non fasters who are eating while they are fasting This was just a show by this referee and nothing more 1 Like |

CAMEROONPRIDE: we all know that Moslems are pretenders this is no brainer . didn't we find book haramists with drugs , used condoms ,cigarettes etc?Wow... So bcoz some people who claim to be muslims commit crimes & engage in immoral acts, the religion of Islam is to blame When Rev King committed those heinous crimes he committed, no one blamed christianity but him. The same logic should be applied to someone who claims to be a muslim and commits a crime. Once again, what's it with you and Ramadan? Even if the fast lasts for 24hrs or 5secs, it's ABSOLUTELY none of your business. And no one is shoving his religion down your throat. I've not seen a way this Ramadan has hindered normal activities. 1 Like |

To some people saying he could have not officiated the match because of Ramadan, i respect your opinion. But some people would have also condemned the man, had he done that. Some people are just making a mountain outta mole-hill. The ref probably spent less than 3 mins and the game continued. His excuse was also genuine. |

Such are virtues of a true Muslim, fasting is part of worship, May Allah continue to guide us to the straight path, the part of those he have favored not the one that goes astray. $quote author=chimmy_2]One of the odder stories in recent days comes from Senegal where a referee stopped a game to break his Ramadan fast. The game between Casa Sport and Yeggo was half-an-hour old when referee Ousseynou Gueye suspended play so his officials could have a drink and eat on the side of the pitch. Despite being heckled by spectators, Gueye finished his snack before resuming. "Legally, it is not possible to stop a match to break the fast," he said afterwards. "But you can enjoy a break in the game to meet a health need. The human body needs water." http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/227755.html Wonders shall never end...[/quote] |
