بِسْــــــــــــــــمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Since Eid ȋs in ά đaƴ or 2(depending on sighting of the moon) I thought it ȋ̊s important ţσ share the following:

Here is how we should greet each other on عيد /eid:

Q. How should one greet others on the day of Eid?

A. One should congratulate others on the day of Eid by saying:
تَقَبَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”
Translation: May ﺂللَّــہ accept our and your (good deeds)
.
Once a Sahabi رضى الله تعالى عنه met Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم on the day of Eid and said to him:

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”
(May ﺂللَّــہ accept our and your (good deeds).

Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم replied:

“Na’am (Yes), Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”.

Likewise the Sahabah would say

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Mink” when they would meet on the day of Eid.

(Fathul Bari, Vol:2, Pg:446, Darul Ma'rifah

•PS: Strange MEN AND WOMAN should NOT shake hands on this day or any day for that matter--- its HARAAM/FORBIDDEN
Men can shake hands with men ONLY and
Women can shake hands with women ONLY.

Strange ȋ̊s this context would mean anybody that one can marry- cousins, ƒriends etc

It is not permissible for a man who believes in Allaah and His Messenger to put his hand in the hand of a women who is not permissible for him or who is not one of his mahrams. Whoever does that has wronged himself (i.e., sinned).

It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.”

Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, #486. Shaykh al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Jaami’, #5045, that this hadeeth is saheeh.

This hadeeth alone is sufficient to deter and to instill the obedience required of us by اللَّه سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى , because it implies that touching a women we are not permissible for may lead to temptation and immorality.

May Almighty Allah accepts all our good deeds as an act of ibadah from us all [Amin].
