I grew up learning about significances of colors as related to ethnic, religious, traditional and cultural beliefs.
In the coperate world too, colors are significant with company branding and outlook.
Also, we have individual choice of colors as regards taste, skin type and preference.
Here are some very common colors, what they represent, their applications and beliefs:
Red: Violence, love
Green: Earthly vegetation, life and decay, jealousy
Blue: Spirituality, cold, defeat, calmness
Yellow: Life, sun, cowardice, sickness, death
White: Purity, health, holiness, sincerity
Black: Evil, death, delusion
Brown: Material security, orderliness, quality, comfort, simplicity, stinginess, genuine

And many more...

Feel free to share your color beliefs.
