my name is Josh, and am 30 years of age. About two months ago, i discovered a little lump like a worm in the upper part of my left testicles. i googled and read about what it could be. with the characteristic and nature of the lump, i suggested it is varicocele. however, my recent concern is that there is a recent change in the behaviour of my penis. here are what i have noticed:

1. i no longer have early morning erections
2. i hardly feel my penis bulge of late. initially i used to have little involuntary erections bout 4 or 5 times a day.
3. i find it difficult to go hard voluntarily (even with past erotic thoughts or fantacies). as before , the thought of previous romance or sex experience with my girlfriend can give me an instant hard-on. now, i have to stroke it with hand repeatedly before it goes erect.
4. though i haven't had sex in a while because my girlfriend is currently serving in a different state. i masturbated of late and discovered my erection is not as hard as before, no pre-cum fluid and prominent veins as before, and the amount of ejaculation reduced dramatically
5. i sometimes have an uneasy feeling on my left testicle around the inner part of my upper left thigh

i dont know where all these is leading to. i gathered that varicocele has no effect on potency/erection, i can recall my penis was functioning normal even when while spotted the varicocele.

can you guys please advice me on this

thanks for your advice. i am contemplating seeing a urologist before a test, just to be certain the the protrusion is varicoceles. however, i dont think its an STD, i have not had sex for the past 5 months and always use protection when with my girlfriend. i have never been sick of any ailment in my entire life except malaria, i am not obese,i dont drink or smoke.i am thinking is a problem that has caused testosterone depletion.

The worm-like feel is very consistent with varicocele.


But there is no evidence to suggest that the varicocele is responsible for the lack of erection.

It sounds more like a psychological effect of having the varicocele.

Please do see a urologist and let us know how it goes with him/her
