ayobase: Under fire for what? Bros personally I really don't care what Adeboye or the critic says in as much as no one was forced with a gun in their head to make such donation ( but then I would not also discard the argument of psychological coercion ). While I chose to address your quote is based on enlightenment as per your statement "That someone without a criminal record can't pay such amount of money indicates how shallow ur mind is financially...SMH....in this country where we have silent billionaire?" First the issue of having a criminal record should actually reads "shady dealing" in which case if you still tend to argue that based on your original write up, then I may be inclined to ask you what you do for a living. Knowing what you do for a living would give me an idea if you truly know what our so called "silent" billionaires do to make their money. On the surface it may all look genuine but then there are little things which you may not considered criminal act either based on limited knowledge on financial laws/regulations or due to sheer ignorance. My point is that the critic may not be far from the truth as bad as it may sound or as jealous as he may have sounded. If you think otherwise I would appreciate you list those "silent" billionaire who have genuine business and whose dealings you know very well. Other than that I would suggest you choose another point of argument because basically I work in the fin sector and I know a lot of what most account managers do for these so called billionaires in a bit to cover their shady deals. Bros believe me, you really don't want to know, some may sound trivial but then they break the law, make money out it and no one queries them. If we are to be a country where crimes are investigated and punished I am sure those so called "silent" billionaire wont be richer than any other average Nigerian. But then I still believe that someone can still make genuine billions in Nigeria but I can bet you if they did they wont throw it away just like that, they sure would put it in a just course. 1 Like |

@Frosbel...There's something strange about you. You are quick to condemn pastors even on other threads. How come only u have been a serious member with RCCG, Deeper Life , MFM, Catholic etc? I would dig out your comments for everyone to see. You are just a liar like your Father the Devil! Twisting the word of God and using it as it suits you. May God forgive you! @ OP, If I had that money I would willingly give it out, the earth is the Lord's and its fulness thereof. If you need basic amenities et al you all should talk to your thieving government. He isn't forcing you all to pay.The church of God would surely match on with or without your inputs. 3 Likes |

You can ask EFCC to investigate him. I pray that God put me into category A. For billionaires, 1 billion naira is a chicken change. |

Now tell me why you're angry... Is it because the Church of God is expanding? Or because God has blessed some of His Children so much that they can bountifully sow in the His work? Or because you're not one of those that is giving the 1 Billion? Or because The Man of God is Esteemed all over the World? Or because you wish to be in such a position? If you're not ready to be a pillar of progress then, don't be a caterpillar that pulls down progress. Little wonder a whole Nation envied Isaac when God blessed Him! What was Isaac's secret? He simply Sowed!.. If you're not ready to Sow, then don't be sour about those who are willing. Remember, Our God is a Consuming fire... He who has an Ear, let him hear what the Spirit says......... God Bless you all. 4 Likes |

nep2ra: Stoopid gullible folks who will fall for anything under the sun. Unfortunately, gigantic church edifices does not translate to spirituality. A country that has at least two churches in one street, yet, the lives of the church goers do not reflect the virtues Christ preached. I am not saying people should not give as God leads them o but you have spoken the truth. We are full of spiritual bullshit in Nigeria. Before one talks everyone shouts God or judgment yet our society is plagued with evil and suffering. Oyibos are not half as spiritual as we are but that society works. What are we doing wrong, lets ask ourselves. if churches alone and men of God could save, Nigeria in-short Africa could have been a first class continent. |

Its ok for whoever can afford to donate to do so, however the donations should best be used for a separate road construction to the church, to ease the sufferings of other road users. 1 Like |

arcbabe: I don't have to donate 1 billion or any amount to a pastor before I can be extremely rich or trigger God's blessing. Work hard, pray to God and help the needy and you will see how God will bless you more and not donating to pastors that will end up cruising in expensive cars, buying private jet and sending their children to the most expensive schools abroad while the poor suffers. How many times have these so called men of God come out to talk on national issues but all they know is how to ask for donation,God is the only one that can bless anybody. How many churches in nigerian are helping the poor upon all the billions they collect and how many of them are doing what Tb joshua and Aliko dangote are doing?FOR YOUR INFORMATION, ADEBOYE HAS BEEN AND STILL IS, A GREAT BLESSING TO THE WORLD, THAT IS WHY YOU SEE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THRONGING TO RECEIVE AND ASSOCIATE WITH HIS GOD, JESUS CHRIST. THERE IS NOTHING ANY BODY HAS DONE THAT RCCG HAS NOT DONE TIMES 7, BUT CHOOSE TO BE SILENT, NOT NOISING LIKE OTHERS. I ALSO WANT TO CORRECT YOU THAT IT IS NOT GIVING TO PASTOR, BUT THE WORK OF GOD. IF PASTOR IS NEEDING, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WILL PROVIDE IT, MERELY MENTIONING IT. 3 Likes |

Even you are right and he is wrong, you don't have any right to judge Gods servant. God is still a consuming fire. N/B prayer don't answer to money, its giving that does. That's the principle. 1 Like |

I expect people to quote me but i seriously dont care! And this is my personal opinion. Its not a surprise that many eyebrows are being raised over this. I think it would be abnormal if he(Pastor Adeboye) did not expect this kind of reaction. The rant on social and mass media can go on but i have the feeling that it would not stop the building. He did not compel people to give. If he wants to expand the church, how is it your business? If you would not give, that would not stop anything being done. I am not a redeemed member. But my concern is why everything about any church attracts this kind of attention. Knowing that the church fund is comprised of what is given by members. The figure spent by a political party for the last convention is way bigger than this and no one batted an eyelid. I think without the church, some media corporations and blog would die down. So, every one can shout and rant as much as they want to, everyone would keep quiet when they are tired. Its a matter of next year before the church would be dedicated. Finally, i know if most of you were alive, you would have equally blasted Solomon for spending a great deal of gold, silver, precious stones, cedar etc building a temple that took a whooping seven years to build because of its complex architectural design. You would have organized protest calling it a waste. Maybe you would have insulted him on facebook, twitter, nairaland, you name it... But God was pleased with Solomon and appeared to him right after the dedication. If this is not of God, be rest assured that it would fail. But, if this be of God, one million devils and one million Boko haram can not stop it. Acts 5:38-39. I rest my case. ID NOBLE35 - God bless you. You are right on point. Q.E.D 5 Likes |

lady gogo: Nigeria is seriously messed up and religion isnt helping matters at all. Is the place of worship not for Nigerians? Besides the church is already doing what it can in the area of health. What is the role of government in providing quality health facilities? Do you know how much Nigeria Govt makes per day from crude oil? |

What is the big deal in the cost of the project the church wants to embark on? The church is not forcing anybody to give towards this project. Giving must be done willingly, and the people that know the important of it do key in to it. Solomon, as King gave 22,000 Oxen and 100,000 sheep burnt offerings in a single day (1 Kings 8:63). If it were in our present day, let us assume, an Ox cost 100,000naira and a sheep cost 50,000naira;the total amount would be around 7.2 billion naira just as an offering in a single day. 1 Like |

;DVery good! Close your 1k account balance and donate to the church! Anu raffite: There is only one problem here. People who sincerely give to Church projects know the benefits and blessings attached. Unfortunately, many do not even believe in God talk of his blessings, so they keep shouting and complaining. How I wish I had up to One Billion Naira in my account right now, I will close the account for this project. |

Without doubt, Poverty reigns supreme in Nigeria because the average Nigerian believe more in "sowing" onto the "Man of God" and less in hardwork! LoL! The "sow" concept is nothing other than a well packaged, modern day Christianity get rich scheme! Here is news for you, you lazy m0rons, if you don't work hard, you ain't gonna get sh*t! Dangote, Gates, Oprah Winfery, etc, all had one thing in common, they worked hard for their bucks. You should too, you m0ron! 3 Likes |

As the case may be.....what I won't do is to cast aspersions on Pastor Adeboye or to blaspheme His God...My God as well, but there are some things bothering me so much which I want to type here.. 1) Are there not the needy in RCCG ? 2)What's the essence of being a pastor and having a university most of your congregation can't afford the school fees for their children? 3)It's apparent that the church has politicians that are bunch of fraudsters and conmen in this country,I guess Adeboye knows them and has been accepting their donation. Is this right in the sight of God? 4)Is it right to pay money before seeing ordinary secretary of a church as said in the thread by one of the church's journalist? We ask to know....cos I wouldn't like a situation whereby I will be making fallacious arguments.... Answer me kindly, and not by first vituperating me...thanks |
