ICAO Audit: Nigeria Makes List Of 14 Best In Africa ................................. Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has listed Nigeria as one of the 14 countries in Africa that have achieved effective air safety implementation above the global average of 61 per cent. This rating is contained in the ICAO 2013 Safety Report compiled by the ICAO auditors who investigated the compliance with stipulated international safety standards by individual countries across the world, especially its 200 member countries. The ICAO 2013 Safety Report lends credence to the Category One certification granted Nigeria in 2011 by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States of America for meeting stipulated international standards and practices on safety and security. The coordinating general manager, Corporate Communications, for Aviation Parastatals, Yakubu Dati, who disclosed this in Lagos yesterday said, “This signals the success of the Aviation Master Plan developed by the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, the vision of which is to make the Nigerian aviation sector a world class provider of safe, secure and comfortable air transport sector that is self sustaining and pivotal to socio-economic growth.” Nigeria has over the years implemented several safety improvement programmes which also earned it the Category One Certification by the US Aviation Authorities. http://leadership.ng/news/220813/icao-audit-nigeria-makes-list-14-best-africa .................................. http://www.icao.int/safety/Documents/ICAO_2013-Safety-Report_FINAL.pdf this is a link to the report i dont see where it says nigeria is among 14 safest nations it just says nigeria has Effective Implementation above the global average of 61 per cent but guess what else in 2012 in africa there were 5 accidents ; 2 were fatal and there were a total of 167 fatalities nigeria has fatal accident with 163 fatalities that sadly is the highest fatalities in 2012 for both africa and the world i suggest the op, who adopts monikers of journalist/economist takes the time to read and reflect before spamming us with half assed threads and psoting pics of waiting areas 1 Like

oga stop lying i have posted a link to the pdf nowhere does it say nigeria is among 14 it references 2012 the countries are groupd in alphabethical order there were 5 accidents in africa in 2012 two involved fatalities there was a total of 167 fatalities in africa Nigeria had 163 so rather than bizarre celebration that involves an accident that has still not been satisfactorily resolved - ban dana today, unban them tomorrow, unresolved issues of poor safety practices, i suggest you come to terms with the fact that your employers are bad market why are my pix not uploading

Smh! Cant wait for 2015 to give them Soludo treatment. Ndi ara!Nigeria is not d 14th. This was not a ranking. The article just said that Nigeria was 'amongst 14 countries in Africa' who according to ICAO Auditors have achieved 'EFFECTIVE Air safety implementation ABOVE d global average of 61%' ie 14 Africans countries hv implemented Air Safety measures above d global average of 61%, meaning their Air ways hv bn adjudged SAFE by ICAO. Nigeria is one of these countries. Do you reali hv this much acute comprehension problem?... Ogbemi, abeg try anoda method; this one fails spectaculously 1 Like |
