After all the waiting on BG group's graduate recruitment program, i was quite distraught to recieve an email from them stating that my application was unsuccessful. I initially didn't feel too bad until I spoke to a number of intellectually sound friends of mine who had also applied and they told me they'd recieved the same response. While we were still pondering on this issue, I then read on nairaland that the GE trainee engineer we applied for had been concluded and the successful candidates had already started training.

It then brings to mind the question: How do these companies make their selection?I'm usually one for 'do your best and leave the rest' but I honestly believe there is some wayo going on here. I remember taking time to fill both these forms and while I try for book small (Not to mention I be Niger-Delta Militant), I cannot seem to understand what their criteria are.

P.S. I rememeber spending 2 days filling the british council application form (2ce) and those guys did not even bother to reply while a friend of mine who merely submitted her name got the job.

my dear,that was exactly what i was trying to say in an ealier posting,but you thought i was bein sanctimonious.if you get a job whose experience is relevant to your chosen field, no matter how relatively low the pay is, it will count for your when your cv is screened.not evrybody lands a big paying job from entry level.it is the end that justifies the means.didnt mean any disrespect to the initiator of the topic then, and certainly none to you now.

Ok, no vex for before (i really can't remember sha). But the matter really surprise me.
