myOGAonTOP: Leave the sacred things of God for God! I beg all you.
2 samuel 6 : 1 - 7 is a perfect case study of someone who was trying to 'help' God out and stabilise His temple.
An ordained man of will ALWAYS have God's attention no matter what. His sins are only subject to God's judgement and reprimand . No other is allowed to venture into it.
In the case of moses as the OP cited;
1. Miriam was older than moses. She nursed him.
2. She was a prophetess well versed in spiritual matters.
3. She was 'right' in her assessment of the issue. Moses was wrong.
Yet.......i always shy away from such dicey issue because Yaweh is sovereighn and at such no man is qualified to do His duty for Him i.e passing judgement on someone He called to serve. Pls be guided so as not to provoke .......

@myOGAonTOP: in the case of Miriam, she digressed a little by arrogating to herself the power that Jehovah bestowed on Moses: intermediary. She equates herself to Moses forgetting she is a woman…
I remember somewhere in the book of Timothy that a sinner be rebuked publicly so as to create the fear of relapse to sin again in others. Do we still expect God to come down to rebuked again?
The lady involved did the right thing by talking to another pastor she believed is spiritually sound only for the matter to be played down.
If the down-playing game had started in the church right on the spot, what will happened when it gets to a higher level?
If the pastor is truly an anointed of God, he should be HUMBLE enough to apologise publicly because he is a public figure at least to his members.
Pride goes before a crash, so said the good book.

@OP: while I go with you on some of the points raised, you however will agree with me that the kind of anointing among so-called MOG these days cannot, can NEVER be compared to anointing by God. God himself directs the anointing then. They anoint themselves this time around.
Just about anybody who has enough money to float a church at any time in his career these days automatically becomes anointed of God. Did you not read in your Bible that some are actually called by their stomach and not by God? Will you go ahead and regard such people as anointed of God even when the good book had said otherwise?
Are there not MOG who are marrying and re-marrying and still claim they got revelation from God to remarry, even when it is in their Bible that God hates a divorce?
Did you also notice that MOG’s have accused one another of diabolical or satanic powers?
MoG? undecided Anointed?? cry cry Questions and more questions..

All those things you said are nothing but crap!!. I didn't even bother reading. If that pastor did all those stuff and haven't confessed to the church, then he's a fake man of God. EOD!!. Sorry to those reading your excuses

On COZA...

If Ese's narrative is true (for me, it is either ways); then it confirms the sham of our homiletics and the hypocrisies of our exegetical swags in Nigeria. From the politician's desk to the pastorpreneur's pulpit, the story is the same...

A question or two, though: is the reason you are angry with Pastor Biodun your sympathy for Ese or because the whole episode gives you a platform to display the ignorance that enthrones men as gods in our churches? Are you angry because you forget that the best of men are never gods? It is time we stopped idolising pastors in Nigeria. If those in our class (at the bar, union or mosque) fall short of integrity, we cannot out of solidarity keep sealed lips. The Nigerian church iconises the man of God to a fault, and many do not know the balance between "touch not my anointed" and "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD." I am reminded that even Nathan told David: "...by this deed
thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme..."

Eventually, if Ese's positions come out to be true and Biodun Fatoyinbo concedes it (By now, COZA should have come out with an unambiguous and honest response to Ese's alarming claims.); Would praying for Pastor Biodun mean anything to you? Will you speak the truth in love? Meanwhile, before all that, will you just hold your peace and be Christ-like?

therealMcCain: Please read the entire write up before you crucify me….
I will cite examples from scriptures to backup what I have to say

Numbers 12:1-10
1. When Moses married an Cushite woman, it was against the law and possible penalty was expulsion from the camp of Israelites(They weren’t suppose to marry outside the tribe of israel).

In Vs 1-2
And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman.
And they said, Hath Jehovah indeed spoken only with Moses? hath he not spoken also with us? And Jehovah heard it

In Vs 4-9
God came into the matter, the issue was no longer Moses breaking the law, but what gave Aaron & Miriam the right to talk in the matter(don’t forget Miriam was a prophetess and Aaron a high priest)

In Vs 10
Miriam was struck with leprosy and it took the same Moses(who had done a wrong thing to intercede on her behalf)

1 Samuel 1:13

And this man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice unto Jehovah of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, priests unto Jehovah, were there.

1 Samuel 2:12-17
Vs 12 Now the sons of Eli were base men; they knew not Jehovah
Vs 17 And the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah; for the men despised the offering of Jehovah

1 Samuel 2:22(notice the very thing that the pastor is being accused of is what the sons of eli did)
Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how that they lay with the women that did service at the door of the tent of meeting.

1 samuel 2:27-34
God comes into the matter and declares their end

1 samuel 4:11
And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

Nigeria, the only country in the world where citizens know more about the Bible and the Koran, but least about their country's Constitution. Heck, they know more about the history of the Israelites than they do their own! What a SHAME.

Ogunjimi James Taiwo: In defence of Ese Walters: Memo to religious addicts

By Ogunjimi James Taiwo on August 25, 2013
Pin It
“You’re not to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.” – Malcolm X

“Let hundreds like me perish, but let truth prevail. Let us not reduce the standards of truth even by a hair’s breadth for judging erring mortals like myself.” – Mahatma Gandhi

At the risk of being labelled a heretic and apostate by die-hard religious people who refused to believe that human beings are fallible regardless of their ‘spiritual’ stature, I have decided to give my opinion on this burning issue.

You see, like so many issues that we have in Nigeria, the issue of religion has perhaps shown over time that we are still immature when it comes to handling issues. We tend to neglect so many rules and embrace deliberate lies. The first rule every human must understand is: Trust no one. The Bible itself gave us that rule in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

The Ese Walters issue has brought into light what many young women that have trudged into some of these new generation churches have been passing through in silence. The reactions that trailed Ese’s revelations are perhaps part of the reasons why these ladies have elected to keep quiet rather that face ridicule and open themselves up to scorn in the society.

I put it forward that some of the statements that Ese attributed to the COZA pastor are statements that cannot be denied by people who have spent their lives in churches and close to church leaders. I grew up in a pentecostal church where you get to listen to some of these statements; whether jokingly or not.

Most of those attacking Ese know this is the truth. Come to most of the churches on campus that have only student pastors without adult supervision and you’ll see and hear more than that. Some of the things that happen are too raw to even utter.

Over time, when pastors commit adultery and have affairs, their church members have always been quick to term the lady involved as an ‘agent’ of darkness sent to pull down the pastor. The pastor hides under that garb and gets away with sin while the lady involved is stigmatised forever.

These issues of sexual abuse are issues that bodies such as CAN and PFN must begin to address instead of concerning themselves with political issues. Recently, the Cameroon government ordered the closure of all pentecostal churches there because of their excesses and unacceptable acts. If these acts continue, Nigerian pentecostal churches must get ready to be shut down too and woe betide anyone who claims its persecution because even God must be disgusted with the way we practice religion.

As for Ese, my sympathies are with her and with the myriad of ladies who have suffered similar things and have had to keep quiet because of societal responses. As for the COZA pastor, let’s see you respond to the latest revelation by Franca. Thank God Franca has audio and pictorial evidences.

Galatians 1:8-9 (Msg) let me be blunt: If one of us-even if an angel from heaven!-were to preach something other than what we preach originally, let him be cursed. I said it once; I'll say it again: If anyone, regardless of reputation or credentials, preaches something other than what you received originally, let him be cursed.

One of those original messages was preached in 2 Timothy 2:19b ...Let anyone that name the name of Christ should depart from iniquity.

While i won't support that we christians should start killing our wounded soldiers,(obviously the duo are wounded) neither will I also encourage christian soldiers that had been wounded on the alter of iniquity pretend as if nothing serious had happened and hid under the veil of "touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm" whereas, the so call anointed has sustained self inflicted and grave injuries and consequently dying slowly.

I pray that God should heal these ones(Bro Biodun & Sis Ese)and those in similar situation. And that the grace of God should not leave us, so that we too won't fall into the same error(s) we had earlier condemned.

@realMacaine.
Thank God for the insight He has given you into His Word and order of things in His Church. There is clear evidence from the Bible that not everyone is allowed to correct or reprimand or even expose anyone God has a covenant with. Those that did it carelessly knowingly or unknowingly paid a price. The reason being that anyone that does it outside God's strict instruction or right authority will not have the reconcilistory motive (a unique attribute of God) God intends when correcting those that are His. These doctrinal issues are not thought in Churches these days and we are in a mess because of it.
But God has not finished with His People.

It is sad how some people will open the Bible and choose to interpret in the way that most benefit their case.

Some randy Pastor no one had heard of a few days ago is now a 'servant and prophet' of God in the same league as Moses and Eli. Hissssss..oshi

I'm not affiliated with COZA, neither do I know Ese, but I believe that in case Ese’s story about the COZA pastor is true, we should not make ourselves Judges over the matter. And meanwhile, there is this other interesting story I heard from a friend.

My friend was owed by a Pastor who obviously had the capacity to pay, but just won’t pay. He was advised to go and harass the Pastor at his Church during service; at least his member will pay if the Pastor does not bulge. But he said he can't try it, instead he will leave him to God. He particularly recounted an incidence where someone in the past had tried to humiliate a man of God in a similar fashion and God struck the man dead.

In the incidence, a member of a Church went back home and caught his Pastor sleeping with his wife. The Pastor had ran naked into a moveable wardrobe to hide. The man locked the wardrobe and called some boys to carry the wardrobe to church. A heavy crowd had gathered at the church to see and mock. The man opened the wardrobe, low and behold; there was the Pastor, naked as from birth. Immediately thunder struck the man dead and everyone fled. The Pastor went away unharmed.

The first two lines of a Hymn by William Cowper (1731-1800) say 'God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform'. The bible has something similar in Isaiah 55:8-9 (King James Version)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Just leave him to God. It's non of your business.

Don't let your blood over boil just to condemn a pastor..while growing up,there was a similar incident involving Bishop Wale Oke. He confirmed the story and I believe God restored him.......*let he without sin cast the 1st stone over an incident that aint confirmed ....

A so called servant of God is a serial sexüal harraser and seducer of young ladies, no better than a politician or unethical boss. And we are supposed to fold hands and leave him to God, because they came and declared that they are servants of God. They are using your tithe money to knack in hotels in London, you are here quoting scripture.

Do you assume that He is a waste of space because you, Mr 36-states created him, or you just lack a beeter way to say he is annoying you because He has a different opinion from yours.

Nobody, repeat...nobody created by God is a waste of space BECAUSE God don't make/create mistakes, misfits and neither has He given you the right to judge his handi-work. He that hath an ear..let him hear.....

Every Institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with obeying (not just preaching and grandstanding) the Word of God must become corrupt (Martin Luther, 1592). Case closed. The body of Christ in Nigeria needs "to observe and do" the Word of God and every believer needs to know and be familiar with the God of the Word as well as the Word of God, instead of following personality. God will have mercy on us all.

@OP:

You are so wrong that it hurt reading your post!

Israel was a "Theocratic" state! God was final arbiter and judge in every matter!

Nigeria/UK where these things happened are democratic! Its a different set of laws and the constitution guarantees secularity in judgement! Being that God is NOT an author of confusion, He wouldn't usurp authority after saying we ought follow laws! Coercion in intimacy matters is same as ra.pe!

Let me put it like this - if a Sharia proponent kidnaps your 9 year old daughter and says his Koran allows him forcibly convert her and marry her, will you say the same you stated? Or is it only pastors that should be left to God? Why not leave boko haram to Allah too? Why not leave traditionaists who kill and carry human parts for their own purposes to Shango and Ogun?

What he did is wrong, IF he did it - that is the honest unbiased truth and God who allowed authority to be constituted is NOT a law breaker!

Well OP this is my response to your weak support for your so called man of God. I culled from this thread:https://www.nairaland.com/1411765/fathers-what-pastor-cozas-daughter. Visit the thread when you have the time:

Thanks guys for the contribution. But on a more serious note, I had to seriously look up the issue because I am a parent too and in all of this controversy no one is considering what the parent may be thinking or how they may be feeling.

What Pastor Biodun did is simply to take advantage of a young naive and easily impressionable young woman. It is generally known that women's weakness is in words spoken to them. I, as an aspiring minister, realized long time ago that this is the reason the scripture commands a minister to be married and for that minister's wife to satisfy him adequately. If not, the women that listen to such a man will fall for him and if he is the type with the libido of a Tiger Woods, he would take advantage of the those ladies under him. Every one that has led a Christian fellowship or preached anywhere, as a man, knows what I am talking about.

The other tragedy relating to the story of this man's philandering is the fact that even though some ministers are not like Pastor Biodun (although if a honest stats is taking, it will be discovered that only a few gospel ministers have not slept with another woman other than their wife in ministry), virtually all of them are guilty of taking advantage of the members of their church. Follow this logic: As the head of my home, needs arise. When this happens I try to meet it. If I cannot, I call my wife to help. If both of us cannot, we pray, trust God and wait. Most times, God meets the need. Now imagine a need arise in church. The church has her provision through the tithes (for those who believe in it) and offering that comes to it. But when these are not sufficient to meet a need in church, church leaders resort to members to give, make a pledge or promises. My point is if this need truly can be met by God, why do you have to take advantage of people to give further. It like a need arising in my home and then I taking advantage of my position and power in some other place to raise finances to meet this need. So Pastor Biodun took advantage of the girls in his church physically but many other do so spiritually.

Truth is these Pastors are taking advantage of God's people: God's children. If so far the father on this thread have responded with indignation at what they would do if anyone takes advantage of their daughters sexually, you can imagine how God, our Father, feels when the church is taken advantage of spiritually. It is a grave sin.

Jesus:

Matthew 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Paul:

2Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him...13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works...19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. 20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face... 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and unclothedness. 28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

While everything Paul wrote up there is worth taking note of, see v. 28-29 where he talks of his concern for the churches: for the weak and for those offended. That is what happens when a minister takes advantage of those he is called to take care of; he offends them and it is a grave sin.

Peter:

1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

That is the job of a Pastor and not sleeping with the girls or asking them for money for building projects.

John:

3 John 9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

I hear some people come to this forum telling us that Pastor Biodun does not owe his congregation or anyone else an explanation. They are foolish people that say such things and it is obvious they don't know what the bible commands a true Pastor to do in regards to shepherding the flock. The fact that more ladies, having being emboldened by Ese's story, have come out to say that this man took advantage of them, shows the matter is confirmed. That Pastor and other pastors like him are as guilty as sin.

On a final note, if Pastor Biodun had taken this scripture serious he would not be in the mess he is in right now:

1 Timoth 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity

That is the job of a true Pastor to the young girls under him. He has defiled a daughter of God and while some of us fathers wish him the worst, God the true Father of all will judge him with a righteous judgement. I hand him over to God.

Now I proceed to a subject i never thought I need to discuss but must in the light of so much biblical illiteracy running around uncaged in our body polity: The Priesthood of All Believers!

My brother don't be confussed or deceived on the issue on ground. No one has the right standing to judge Pastor Biodun .
Note that Pastors represent God in ministry and there are ethical values expected of every Pastor called by God. Imagine if truly he commits adultery without reconciliation with God , he will transfer that spirit to as many he lays hand on in. Prayer.
A little leavening leavens the whole lump, says the Lord. The salvation of the pastor is more important than the ministry. The Lord says anyone that defiles his temple, God will destroy. Please, let pastor open up and speak the truth on the issue .

Even Satan quoted scriptures when he tempted Jesus!
Quote all the verses in the Bible...it does not change the definition of "Adultery" or "Fornication".
