Naija Culture By Area, Religion, Etc. by Mzungu(m): 12:16am On Aug 31, 2013 |
Ey ooo! 1st of all, im new here, im a finnish guy who loves the naija people and culture I got in contact with it through a group of nigerian friends from church, they moved here as asylum seekers and I think we as stiff finns have a lot to learn about praising in church, get some livity, clapping and joy into it and not just that, but i feel as if the naija people have a very positive and vibrant out look on life, and i sometimes wish my own people were similar. Our culture is stiff and we are afraid to show emotion for some reason, we barely greet our neighbors, but enough of this, i typed this cause i want you to know where im coming from when asking this: Does the culture differ in Nigeria depending on a certain area? For example would the muslim north have different kind of people than the christian south? Or is faith the only thing "dividing" the people? Is the food culture still same? I'd assume it is. I know that NIgeria is a very diverse nation so Id assume there would also be many different cultures and ways of life than the one that ive seen here from my limited exprience. Thanks beforehand for the replies, also I apologize for my not so good organizing of this message its 2AM here and im tired. PS. How much of the population in Nigeria speaks english? |
