The Ember months - a reference to the calendar months of September, October, November, and December. These are the months during which we(especially Africa) experience a higher incidence of deaths and injuries, through road traffic accidents, due to the increased number of road users in the run up to the festive season. During this period, churches commence series of vigils to avert the murderous revenge of 'ba ba ba' months. Long drawn out fasting schedules are imposed on reluctant fellow worshipers, to placate the many demons of ember months, who apprenticed under Dracula as blood suckers.

Muslims are not left out; special prayers are chanted and repeated over and over to ward off evil. Even the herbalists also commune with their gods for safety. It's the evil occurrences that scares people. Those who do not know their God find one to protect them. All the ado is not just a blabbering sound, it's for a purpose.

its the latter part of the year, so there are many superstitious folks who attach meanings to that time.

superstitious meaning those who want to do harm, not just the victims who are the recipients of harm.

Is it true it's prime wedding season in Nigeria or parts of it? Reading the above, it looks unlikely so. I've never attached any significance to these months (past a drop in temperature) so it's interesting to learn of people who do.

Wedding season is around late October, through November to mid December. That's when there will be a wedding every weekend. The peak will be last Saturday in November to the second Saturday in December where you can be invited to 4 weddings on the same day
