The Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has officially
announced the conversion of all the Local Government and ward
structures of his former party, the All Progressive Grand Alliance
(APGA) to the merger party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), as
he declares that APGA has seized to exist in Imo State.
Governor Okorocha made the declaration while presenting the former
officials of APGA in the Local Government and wards of the State to
the National Zonal Vice Chairman of APC and other officials of the
party at a forum held at the Ahiajoku conference Centre, Owerri.
The Imo Chief Executive who maintained the APGA does not have a
national outlook advised the Igbos to join the new merger party which
presents a way forward for Ndigbo and the nation at large. He
stressed that APC is the party that would guarantee the long desired
positive change for the nation and enjoined all to embrace it. He
announced that a 21-man harmonization committee has been set up
to ensure even representation of the interest of all the merger parties
in the State and advised the APC members to work as a team.
In his remarks earlier, the National Zonal Chairman of APC, Dr. Nyerere Anyim called on all Igbos to join the party to form a
formidable team in order to guarantee a radical change in governance. He commended the leadership style of Governor
Okorocha and described him as a man of great vision

Each time you people write this big lie, it gets to my nerves. APGA did nothing for Rochas but he rather helped APGA in Imo State. He could have won that election on any platform.

Hehehe.. Long Overdue.

APGA has become an appendage of the killer party and has thus outlived its usefulness..

Peter AdaObi and his co-travelers have destroyed APGA.... Kudos!!

He could have won the election under any platform?? Just listen to yourself. Why didn't he resurrect AA (Action Alliance) which is his own personal party to run for the election? Why was he almost living in Anambra precisely Awka during the time he was begging to be given APGA ticket ahead of Agbasos?

Why didn't he go back to (AA) which he created and was left alone in it before he once jumped again into another party? Remember that Okorosha has been vying to become governor since 1999, even Udenwa beat him blue and black then.

FYI: These are the factors that made Okorosha governor of Imo state:

-APGA factor

-Ikemba factor

-Peter Obi/Umeh support fact

-Imo state voters which Ohakin left in the woods.

If okorosha was that sell-able he would have used AA, ANPP, or even go for Independent candidacy.

Chino stop writing what you know nothing about. Okorocha has been vying for President and not Governor. Imo State people had always wanted him as a Governor because of his philantropic records and most Imolites were happy when he decided to vye for Governorship in 2011.

I don't like stampeding history records. Except you were not reading newspapers in 1999.

"Okorocha was a Commissioner on the Federal Character Commission and a Member of the National Constitutional Conference.[2] When democracy was restored in 1999, Rochas Okorocha competed in the primaries to be People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor of Imo State, but lost to Achike Udenwa.[3] He moved to the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP), and was an unsuccessful candidate for President on the ANPP platform in 2003. He returned to the PDP, and President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him as Special Adviser on Inter-Party affairs.

Rochas Okorocha formed the Action Alliance (AA) party in 2005, planning to become a Presidential candidate for the AA in the 2007 elections.[4] He again returned to the PDP, and in September 2007 indicated that he was interested in becoming PDP National Chairman.[5] After Governor Ikedi Ohakim decamped from the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) to the PDP in July 2009, Okorocha denied that Ohakim had taken over the PDP in the state, saying he was named as leader since he was governor, but a proper PDP congress should be held to decide on policy.[["

If Okorosha was that liked and marketable he would have won Udenwa. Remember that Udenwa was not even known by anybody before 1999 elections. The fact that popular Okorosha could loose the election to a little known Udenwa is an indication that Okorosha cannot win any election on his own if not for the factors I listed up there.

I pity for you and pple tht liked your porus comment.
Firstly you cant run as an independent candidate
Rochas was contesting for presidency not governor
Like every other person he is entitled to any party of his choice
Imolites were tired of ikiri their former governor qnd so needed a deserved change in the person of okorocha.

Truely apga is dead in imo.
