When I go to a party here, I would expect to have conversations with a couple of people at the very least who are not my friends or my circle of friends. I might as well just stay at home if I wasn't open to the opportunity of meeting other people. |

Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom. I did speak to my future husband, 5 days left, and he told me that some of the women are upset because he refused to toast some friends of theirs that they wanted him to meet. They felt slighted because he choose an akata (sp) over one of them. He told me they will get over it and that he noticed how they treated me, thus him asking me several times the next day if i enjoyed myself. He figured i would tell him when i was ready and that he has already spoken to some of the husbands. But one girl from the party who did not speak to me but spoke to my husband and said that she would be willing to teach me to cook traditional meals. She over heard me speaking to one of the other American girls at the party. We will be getting together next Saturday to spend a day cooking. I cant wait. |
