50calibre: Nigerian army is a joke, almost anyone can become a General, once you have the right connections.Calling the Nigerian army a joke is an understatement, more like a ragtag militia than a real modern army, a so called general in the Nigerian army is equivalent to a captain in the US army or marine corps. 1 Like |

From ma point of view, this info is so not be made explicitly available to the public. A part of that sense of secrecy is bin lost hia.. Details of military officers nd dia various positions shldnt b made so public. Its 4 d security of both d individual officers nd d nation at large. |

Some Generals in Nigerian army are among those begging boko haram for dialogue |

You have an acute case of inferiority complex. You discredit what you don't know by spewing garbage. Eager to showcase your mumurity. Kindly define modern army and modern general. It appears you are a descendant of inferior Africans that sold their fellow man for mirrors and hair dye. 2 Likes |

confusion247: You forget that the boko situation is been fought in their backyard. Their ancestorial grounds is been decimated every time they utilize force, countless loss of lives from army personnel and innocent civilians. and you belittle them for seeking a diagloue. With all their military might. Did America generals not dialogue with Taliban in Afghanistan? Did that make them less general. Guy try reason. |

And what is a doctor here equivalent to in the US. Wht about a civil engineer, a lawyer, journalist, professor, news anchor, nollywood actor, student, politician, businessman or any profession or vocation you fancy. Dude be serious. You can't isolate parts of the society for criticism without introspection. We are suffering from collective failure. |

Mentcee: Does the Nigeran military possess an anti missile defence system? Oga. An missile shield will require a radar dome and that will require round the clock electricity. Provide that first. Is that the army's business also. 1 Like |

Mentcee: Does the Nigeran military possess an anti missile defence system? An Anti Missile Defense System in front of a Nigerian General will most likely cause the same kind of hysteria/confusion/indignant you would expect when an undiscovered tribe in the amazon is exposed to the internet!! All you guys looking down on the NA due to your inferiority complex, pls name three major war campaigns the US marine corp brought to a successful completion in the last fifty years. It's a shame when folks come online to spew rubbish and make light of officers trained to lay down their lives for their country. For once be proud of your men and women in uniform. While you were busy snoring in the 90's these gentlemen were soldiering in Sierra leone, Liberia, Sudan, Congo and within the country. Pls respect them but if it's difficult, stick to what you know. 5 Likes |

That is the practice in the army.It is not witch hunting.35 years is the mandatory service year that precedes retirement. Its not easy to hang a pip in the army.If you fail the captain to major course/exam then you are qualified for retirement. The road to hang the rank of a major General is like walking the tight rope of death. Is not easy at all.Our officers remain the best in Africa and I am proud of them. They are professionals and disciplined to a fault.Their pension is okay to sustain them throughout life.Lets say a big thank you to them for serving our fatherland.Once a soldier always a soldier. 3 Likes |
