FILEBE: This is just getting annoying as days pass! Would you believe that they now pray to these Sheiks? I heard them saying : in the name of Sheik Niyas. .. Can u imagine? Some even went to the extent of wearing his picture as an amulet . Didn't d Quran clearly states that it sinfull to use Amulets? I'm not suprised anyway , the Quran makes it clear about people who read the Quran for reading sake and some who wont understand a thing except whom God wants to.

The bolded part is a common practice in town like Offa. I saw things during my stay there. Walahi it was very annoying.
May Allah forgive us and guide us to the straight path

Being an Offa man, if I tell them that Shaytaan is the one deceiving them to do all those things, they will skin me alive. Unfortunate.

Some even claim they saw Bulala is Saudi.

I know bulala personally as a kid that grew up in Offa and I had personal encounter with him. I remember going to school one day (shortly before he died in 1989) when me and my primary school friends saw him on our way to school and he gave us banana. I dare not tell my people this, but truth, with the kind of behaviour exhibited by him during his lifetime (walking around the community like a deranged person, locking himself in his room for many days without going to mosque, and other strange practices), I'm convinced, from my later understanding of Islam, he was possessed by jinn, which misled millions of people, and still misleading them today, 24 years after his death. Allah knows best.

These men in question can't stand for themselves nor shall they assist any soul to success in the hereafter, so that taking them to the level where they doesn't belong is totally un-islamic and, there is a day coming that people who concocted these lies will highly disgrace because their sheiks will turn away from associating them.

Inyass and Bulala apparently denied them which will resulted them end up in hell fire.

Wal iya zubillah!

and so what? what does seeing him do to you? Does anything in Islam attach significance to the dead?

many of these practices of seeking from the dead are alien to Islam. Muslims should stop trying to be like people of other religions.

If at all they saw something, then it's Jinns.

A dead person can never come back to life (until resurrection), but it is possible the jinn(working with qareen) takes his shape to deceive and mislead people.

I remember the story of Imam Ibn Taymiyyah that one of his students said he had problem in Damascus while Sheikh was in Saudi, he called Sheikh and he appeared to him and solved his problem. When he narrated the story to Imam Ibn Taymiyyah on his return to Damsacus, Imam told him it was not him he saw, Jinn must have taken his form to deceive him.

Could be jinns really.

What is haram is obvious and what is halal is obvious. Situations like this have been dealt with in Islam. It's shirk for one to believe in ghosts (i even saw a pix of those 'muslims' bowing down in worship to the pix). This is outright shirk. What i notice about those people is ignorance. They are ready to swallow what their religious leaders say hook, line and sinker. Knowledge is key.

I'm a muslim, and i'm dead sure this is not, and will never be part of the teachings of Islam.
If one can seek for knowledge to live comfortably in this world, why then wont one seek for knowledge to live well in the hereafter. Illiteracy about one's believe is a very strong tool for one to be extorted. Avoid extortion and dogmatism, know why you're doing what you're doing, and all these will seize to be problems.
It's nothing but pure deceit.

[quote author=tbaba1234]JINNS may take the form of a live picture portraying whatever the sorcerers and fortunetellers wish to know about. When these deviants see the image of what they sought, they then inform other humans about it. Some of them may know that the image is actually an illusion, while others may be deluded into believing that they are actually wintessing the real scene.

Ibn tamiyyah (1263 - 1328) essay translated by Dr Bilal philips.

More:

The devils will often respond while talking the form of the one besought, whether dead or alive, even if he is unaware of those who call on him. Those committing Shirk in this fashion believe that the person beseeched has actually replied when in fact it is the JINN replying. This frequently happens to Christians who call on those whom they edify, whether dead or alive, like George or other holy figures [ROME, Feb 24 1989 (AFP) - A retired Italian roadman Renato Baron claims that he has been seeing and talking to the Virgin Mary for nearly three years now. Visions by Baron and about THIRTY others have attracted tens of thousands of people from Italy, France, Belgium, and West Germany to a hill near Venice, causing huge traffic jams.

Ambridge, Pennsylvania - A small Roman Catholic Church in a western Pennsylvania mill town is preparing for a deluge of pilgrims after a reported Good Friday miracle in which the eyes of a statue of Christ suddenly closed. The Rev. Vincent Cvitkovic, a Franciscan friar, and many of his parishoners reported that the eyes of a life-size statue which depicts the crucified Christ, which have been open for 60 years, closed during a prayer meeting.

Rather than just dispute the authenticity of the topic you choose to go into how it is a common practice among Christians. How many Christians believe and practice such?Is it not a practice found commonly with the Catholic church?
Let's show maturity and wisdom when passing comments.
Like i always say, what a man believes or disbelieves does not change the Truth.

tintingz: ^^Real jinns at work shape shifting to human's image

Bowing to an image is unislamic and Islam doesn't believe in ghost roaming around and people seeing it, ghost are meant to be where they should be waiting for judgment day.

People shouldn't be deceived by this crap, it might be a way of collecting money from people.

May Allah guide us.
Thank you for putting the islamic perspective out there.Ghost stories aren't Islamic, everyone would be in his grave reaping the fruits of his or her deed.

One will put himself at risk if not suicidal to tell them Shaytaan is the one deceiving them really, but I think work still need to be done to enlighten some of their members.

There is a particular one that owns a mosque close to my villa at Amuyo. The dude still do most if not all what you said Bulala did and he had/has reasonable followers. It's just sad

Islam is one but people practise Islam the way they like. Why? Lack of Knowledge and their Ignorance. In an hadith, we are made to know that it only the image of Prophet Muhammad that cannot be duplicated by shaytan but those of other human beings are possible. So it's more than possible that the images of the said sheiks are actually shaytan work in order to mislead people with no Islamic knowledge. Most saddened part is the shirk committed by soliciting one thing or the other from such images. And these people will still say in their prayers IYYAKA NA'ABUDU WA IYYAKA NASTAHEEN (You (ALLAH) worship and from You we see help)

When assessing stuff like this, even though one is not there, one just has to assume - ok, what if it was his picture? So, what do we do? It is this that shows the difference between knowledge and ignorance. Is it to strengthen your eeman or what? My brother, people for here like miracle na Im be dis.

I don't want to sound pessimistic for those who went there to see it but really, let them ask themselves, "so what?" People just need to be very careful and pray against minor shirks, some of which we don't know we're engaged in.
