Sen. Bukola Saraki’s Security Withdrawn Yesterday, the Inspector General of police directed the immediate withdrawal of security personnel detailed to the former Governor of Kwara State and current Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki (CON). The security personnel withdrawn are from the Senator’s residences in Abuja and Ilorin. That, it was an order from above is not enough reason to deny an elected person of his legal rights as prescribed by virtue of Kwara State Pension Law of 2010, Third Schedule, Section 2 (3) paragraph H. While it is clear that this is not unconnected with the recent political activities going on in the country. No doubt, recent events in the nation have been taking strange and tragic dimensions but we have to look beyond our individual interests and let the weight of making Nigeria great dominate our minds as leaders and citizens as Nigeria is bigger than any individual. By law, the Nigerian police have contravened the rights of an elected citizen with deliberate harassment and intimidation to the person of Senator Saraki and we shall not hesitate to seek legal redress against this arbitrary decision. This move by the Nigerian police authorities no doubt will definitely endanger the life of Senator Bukola Saraki. We hereby call on good citizens of Nigeria to hold the Federal Government responsible for any eventuality considering the fact that there are illegal arms going round the country without being properly checked. Finally, Senator Saraki wishes to re affirm his commitment and readiness to uphold the virtue of democracy, good governance, , rule of law, equity and justice even in the face of this present intimidation and harassment as those are part of the sacrifices we must all make for a better Nigeria we will all be proud of. Signed, Bamikole Omishore

This is a desperate attempt by dumbo to crush the new pdp. But someone should tell him that he is going to fail.cos his end is near. In T B joshua voice i say. A revolution is near. |

Bukky u are very silly, who care for your life, are u not the same person that was stoned in Ilorin few months ago at the eid ground and ur commissioner cum Governor. Thou I do not support GEJ but u deserve to be recalled from the senate and thrown to EFCC net. The earlier these people are exposed to what the average Nigerian experiences on the street everyday, the better. If we provide every politician with beefed up security detail, the politicians would simply live in a different planet! If we cry out about police brutality they will understand it better, if they themselves are not walled off by excessive police protection. If we cry of police harassing innocent people on the streets, they will understand it better. If we complain of difficulty getting into some goverment and public offices, they too will understand it better without police details. 7 Likes |

Lol @ Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki ... Bukola is indeed “distinguished” as Omo Baba Oloye ... I can see he's the one behind Megida's walk out on GEJ along with other governors during the PDP special convention. Fatai Ahmed don't have such guts ... 2 Likes |

So Kwara State laws state that Federal Police can protect an Ex-Governor for life ? Does it mean that Federal Government will be paying police salaries and criminal saraki will keep a killer squad of policemen for life ? PDP is being purged. 4 Likes |

Same thing happened to Osun state former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and National secretary of the new PDP faction. He was in my church today, Winners chapel Osogbo, nobody noticed this man presence cos he drove himself, wife and pA to church. It was when the service was going to an end that an sss officer in my unit (security) noticed his PA at the church, immediately all securities gathered to escort him to his car when the service ended as the woman told us if anything happened to him, the church is gonna be held responsible. 2 Likes |

Let the state sponsored security of all elected officers be withdrawn. Their lives are no more precious than that of regular nigerians who bust their humps on the streets day after day to make ends meet. There are countless number of private security firms out there. They can go hire some personnel if they want personal security, no one can deny them that, even celebrities do. My only problem is that, as everything else with PDP style politics, these withdrawals we've been hearing about lately are all selective and done with utter prejudice. What is sauce for the goose must be sauce for the gander. 2 Likes |
