Does Being A 'christian' Allow For Participation In A 'JOKE'? by Eseharrison(m): 10:16am On Sep 09, 2013 |
I was lying on my bed this morning feeling lazy to go to my PPA (place of primary assignment) when I got a message on my BBM from my fellow corp member serving at the same PPA: where U̶̲̥̅̊ D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥? What came immediately t̶̲̥̅̊ø̲ mind was: "I D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ class, I don dey teach sef" Obviously, that was a 'lie' but I intended it as a 'JOKE'. Then sth struck me: isn't that a sin? So I simply replied: "room" to her question. I know D̶̲̥̅̊ Bible has said loads on 'careless speech', 'unwholesome talk' etc in Ephesians 4:29, Matthew 5:34-37, Matthew 12:37 and odas So my question goes again: Does being a 'christian' allow for participation in jokes?, in making them, sharing them and all involved in joking? Had I replied: " I D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ class, I don D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ teach sef" wud I hv 'erred'? What's U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ take?
