The list is not only about R&B and hiphop stars. Musicians from all genres were considered. Yes, Sunny Ade was popular way back, but how many people outside Nigeria know him now? The list was compiled based on how popular these musicians are now. You may argue that Sade Adu is also there, but a lot of people, especially in the UK and Europe still remember and know her very well. 2 Likes |

He's a top UK soul singer with hit records like "Time To Grow" etc.Lemar Obika is not very popular even in the UK. He was considered along with some other international acts of Nigerian parentage, but was not included in the list. As for Chiddy Bang, he might have made it if the list was extended to 20. 1 Like |

How did you number it? Is it in terms of popularity or who you feel is popular? Sade is definitely the most popular and Wale should be next. Tinie Tempah is only popular in the UK and Europe. I don't know what Cham is doing on the list, he's irrelevant outside Houston. And nobody knows Tuface! 5 Likes |
