Adding to President Jonathan’s anxieties are other more pointed actions undertaken by the INEC Chairman indicative of the INEC posture towards the upcoming elections of 2013 and 2015. Available information reveals that the INEC Chairman had performed an in-house intelligence audit of the leakages and weak-links [staff members] utilized by politicians to rig both local and federal elections. Following the conclusion of the exercise, the Chairman was reported to have conducted a mass redistribution of duties and assignments. ^^^I see where the problem lies alright. This INEC chairman may not be amenable to the political inequalities which results in losers being declared outright winners by fiat 1 Like |

eGuerrilla: Indeed. Add to that the consideration that Jonathan cannot exactly be pleased with Jega for his failure to indulge and prolong the confusion over which Party has the right to use the APC acronym. If what is revealed here is true, i.e Jega was acting as a informal 'advisor' to the APC over procedural issues linked to correct and formal registration, then the INEC chairman is surely in the 'black book' of a paranoid and insecure President. 1 Like |

Well, on the issue of the APC acronym I think Jega should be questioned cause I know that the African People's Congress filed in their request to be registered as a political party before this other APC. And this same INEC replied them with requirement which they met and presented to INEC,and after a long wait they were denied registration for some silly reasons only to approve the other party. Seriously questions should be asked. 1 Like |

Some news articles are somehow the imaginations of their respective writers/editors. Why should sensitive issues be published for public consumption without verification. If this information turns out to be false what remedy will the publisher offer after sowing hatred and poisoning peoples minds against the President and against INEC Chairman who is being accused of nepotism/ tribalism. We should endeavour to cross check most news articles we read before taking a stand. But instead, security reports available to On the first level, according to a familiar |

It is JEGA's job to ensure that parties get the right advise before registration, what is wrong with that? Are the rules supposed to be a secret which he is not supposed to tell intending parties after paying the right fees? Or is he supposed to register them when they make an error in their application? Or collect the money, refuse to register the parties and correct the errors? This is WHY Nigeria is still a backward country because MOST of the citizens are JINXED not to see simple things as this one! In any developed country of the world, after reading the procedures for application for anything, you can pick up your phone and call the office responsible and they would literally walk you through the steps, 1 by 1 even let you take a minute to find a paper and pen to write it down! Why is this GEJ an accursed human being who has bewitched ALMOST all Nigerians? Are you people dull or what? One more thing: Let the retardeen GEJ, the narrow-minded Ijaws like Asari, their ibo supporters go and write it down: the way the have carried on so far is a guarantee they will come back and cry eventually! Democracy is a game of numbers, consensus, negotiation, not force, not selfish I before others. One day, 2015 or 2019, GEJ will cease to be president. In 4 years so far, neither Ijaw or Ibos have anything to show for their partial and unfair distribution of the countries wealth where they have cornered almost everything! When a northerner or south westerner or another part of the country gains ascendancy, and pays you back in your own coin, think how you will cry forever! In 4 years, Bayelsa still has nothing to show for all the billions and favours it gets while Lagos, Osun, Oyo and Ogun, etc are always in the news for something new and different; it seems they will never stop trying to push themselves even further to the benefit of their people. Bayelsa has less than 2 million people and collects one of the highest federal revenue in Nigeria. I can't wait for the day when I begin to read your pathetic cries and whining on NL! 1 Like |

Jega, featuring on Radio Nigeria, Kaduna National Station’s Hausa programme, Hanu Dayawa, said the commission had introduced new changes that would ensure free and transparent elections in future. Well, its a season of LIES and PROPAGANDA. Here are some pertinent questions for LIARS to ponder over: Who appointed Prof Jega in the first place? Was it Buhari or Tinubu? What was the president thinking when he appointed Prof Jega in 2010? Was he thinking of electoral manipulation or some that'll help him fight the opposition? Didn't the president have other options (people who are more amenable to rigging and fight opposition elements) when he went for Prof Jega? What has changed between 2010 and now for the president to now want Prof Jega out? My understanding of the issues is that the president in 2010 wanted free and fair elections and went for a leadership in INEC that will deliver that vision. And I think so far, INEC has done well in that regard. Consequently, I do not think the president would now want to remove someone who has delivered his vision in the electoral process of the country. However, if there are reasons to remove Prof Jega, it cannot because the president now wants someone that'll manipulate elections. If the president didnt go for manipulation of elections in 2010, why in 2013? If for instance, security reports points to the fact that Prof Jega, like Justice Salami, is now sympathetic to APC, then the president has every right to move for his removal. Again, though I doubt the authenticity of the beer parlour gossip, I dont think it is proper for Jega to starve some departments in INEC of funds or factionalise INEC into "northern loyalists" and "southern suspects/enemies". |

I wonder why this President is so jittery. Was INEC not supposed to show parties the right way to go on issues as little as registration? I wonder if the President still has time for governance as all his efforts now appeared geared towards reconciling his Party and haunting down perceived enemies against his 2015 ambitions. With his present jittery disposition, the President is bound to make mistakes that may prove to be his albatross come 2015. 1 Like |
