Every 18th of September is World Bamboo Day, and Nigeria is not left behind, with the presence of Bamboo plant grown in the tropical area of the country. There are many amazing fact about bamboo we need to share together.

1. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the whole world.
2. Asia continent has the largest plantation of Bamboo in the whole world.
3. Bamboo is classified under grass plant, and it is also called a giant grass
4. Bamboo is a symbol of "Friendship" in Indian
5.Chinese believe bamboo as an Icon of model of a "gentlemen"
6. Buddhist believe bamboo to be their best food out of eating meat, egg and fish.
7. In Japan, bamboo is believed to be a barrier against evil.
8 Bamboo is the National plant of St. Lucia
9 The Ethnic group the "Bozo" of west Africa take their name from Bamboo.
10. Bamboo Leaf is used to cure heart disease
11. In Indian, a fermented bamboo paste known as " Khorisa" is known locally for the treatment of Impotence, infertility and menstrual pain.

According to the Site Developer of a bamboo based research center in Nigeria Mr Olusegun Celestine Oni. He emphasised that Nigeria must be ready to develop technician and expert who can discover the untapped potentials in the country, most especially in the Natural resources.

He further explained that, since the dream of using bamboo to make paper in the 1970s in Nigeria is not yet fulfilled, Nigeria should never forget that apart from Making Paper with bamboo, there are over 1000 other uses of bamboo in the world.

During the inauguration of the Tourist site in Ibadan on Feb 20, 2013, the Director of Agriculture at Egbeda Local Gorvernment. Mr Omolewo, emphasise that the Utilization of Bamboo will be a link to entrepreneurship and skill development, which will eventually brought a drastic reduction to the unemployment in the country.

Wood Industry= Particle board, Beans, Fiberborad, oriented stand board, Mat board, corrugated roofing sheet, Flooring, Molding, Laminates, poles, Lumber, scaffold, plybamboo, Glulam, Beams.

PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRY= newsprint, bond paper, tissue paper, cardboard, cement sacks, coffee filters.

TEXTILE INDUSTRY = clothing, underwear, socks, blanket, bullet proof shirt, towels, pillows, mattresses, Baby Diapers

BIOENERGY INDUSTRY= charcoal, biofuel, pyrolysis, firewood, pellets, briquette, Gasification, firewood, biomass

FOOD AND BEVERAGES INDUSTRY= bamboo shoots, bamboo wine, bamboo tea, bamboo beer, bamboo vinegar, charcoal coated peanut

AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY= steering wheels, dashboards, interior trim, body part

SPORT AND RECREATION INDUSTRY= bicycles, skateboard, starboard
