Security operatives yesterday in Abuja prevented protesters from gaining entry into the premises of the Supreme Court to complain over what they called subverting of justice in Taraba State.
The protest was organised by Save Democracy Group (SDG) who were also at the National Assembly.
In a letter presented by leader of the group Solomon Adodo, the group asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Maryam Mukhtar, to prevail on the Chief Judge of Taraba State to adhere strictly to the tenets of the judiciary on the health status of Governor Danbaba Suntai.
In the letter Adodo said:"Whereas the legislature and the court of public opinion has granted its nod to a fit Garba Umar to proceed as the acting governor of Taraba state, the judiciary should give its unbiased and balanced judgement on the matter at hand as it did in the case of the then ailing President Yar'Adua."
He described the letter reported to have been written to the Taraba State House of Assembly by Suntai as the handiwork of "imaginative writers and signature cloners" seeking to impose the ailing governor on the people and rule the state by proxy.
