URHOBO YOUTH LEADER DONATES WATER BORE HOLE, BUS TO COMMUNITY

The national president of urhobo national youth movement comrade alex iduh
has donated water bore hole project estimated at N .5million to
okuno-orogun community in ughelli north local government area in delta
state. the urhobo youth leader has also donated a bus worth N1.6million to
the youths' movement. commissioning the water project, a former law maker
representing ughelli north constituency II in the state house of assembly
hon. george oyefia noted that the people of the community deserved apology
for their prolonged neglect by the government. hon. oyefia commended the
urhobo youth leader for what he described as wisdom and foresight and urged
other urhobo youths to emmulate the gesture.
While advising the youths to always operate with the fearofgod, the ex
lawmaker also requested the people of the community to protect and maintain
the project. for his part, the donor of the project, comrade alex iduh
explained that the youths of the community were part of the urhobo youth
movement. he recalled that he promised them the water project one month
ago, adding that more youths empowerment were underway.
While seeking the youths' support to the urhobo youth movement, he reminded
them that orogun has more than 20 oil wells. he explained that the oil
prospect will create job opportunities and other empowerments for them. mr.
godspower umukoro who spoke on behalf of the community, exppressed their
gratitude to the urhobo youth leader and promised that they will protect
the project. mr. umukoro recalled that the people have participated in all
the past elections without benefiting anything from the government. he said
that the community has no roads, electricity, health centre, primary and
secondary schools and pleaded with governor emmanuel uduaghan to look into
their deplorable condition.
Also speaking on behalf of the women, madam florence agofure said that they
would continue to pray for the success of the youth
leader and the entire
urhobo youths. she requested other notable urhobo and orogun indigenes,
especially those in government to complement the gesture of comrade alex
iduh. the high point of the ceremony was the cutting of the tape to
commission the water project. comrade alex iduh was accompanied by the
leaders of the youths' movement from the various local government areas of
urhobo extraction.
