THE corpses of the Police
Micro-Finance Bank Managing
Director, Alhaji Hassan and
Manager of the bank, Mr
Tunde Banwo who were killed
by the outlawed Ombatse
militiamen and buried by the
riverside alongside their
vehicle at Tundun-Adabu, in
Obi Local Government Area of
Nasarawa State, have been
exhumed, on Wednesday.
When the Nigerian Tribune
visited the Police Command
around 7.30 p.m., the
exhumed bodies were laid at
the back of police hilux vehicle
before they were later taken
to Dalhatu Araf Specialist
Hospital (DASH) in Lafia, the
state capital.
Informed police source
confided in the Nigerian
Tribune that the two police
bank top brass who had since
last Saturday been declared
missing, were found dead and
buried alongside their Toyota
Corolla saloon car by the
riverside at Tundun-Adabu
Village.
It was learnt that two top
officials of the bank, who
resided in Abuja and worked
at the Force Headquarters
were in Lafia, on Saturday, for
the wedding ceremony of one
of the children of the Police
Commissioner-in-charge of
Cooperative.
According to an impeccable
source who preferred
anonymity, “the two top
officials of the bank, with the
driver, Sergeant Aliyu Adamu,
came for a wedding ceremony
in Lafia but they missed the
road while trying to check out
of the state. They were later
ambushed by Ombatse boys
who took them to the bush,
killed the three of them, set
them ablaze with the car and
buried them with the same car
by the riverside. The
militiamen dug the ground to
the size of the car and buried
them there.”
