**why should President Jonathan
be for saving money that the
states suppose to be shared
through the Sovereign wealth
fund. - Amachi.
I agree with my governor,
Chibuike Amaechi that he doesn't
need to be around for the
contractors on Trans Amadi road
to their job. That's a good point in
calling us to stand up to our
individual responsibilitie s as a
people . He extricated himself
from the blame of a project
success or failure as long as he
has awarded the contract.
In a society with values, this is
absolutely correct. We can't
always extricate ourselves from
the problems of the country and
lay the blames on policy makers
whilst we are the ones supposed
to make policies work.
But in his characteristic manner of
double speak, he equally blamed
the president and minister of
aviation for not completing the
Port Harcourt airport project (His
claim of abandoning the project is
false, the contractors are still on
site).
Maybe he wants the minister or
President Jonathan to come and
work at the site. That is the
problem with talking too much .
You run the risk of going round in
circles and shooting yourself in
the foot.
Last week whilst addressing some
youths , he stated that he was a
true nationalist and will not
support Uduaghan's claim that
every Niger Deltans should
support GEJ . Absolutely correct
for a nationalist.
Then suddenly, he began
attacking the President for not
doing much for the Niger Delta
and this is also a reason why he
isn't supporting him.
He gave evidence by the East-West
road hasn't been completed.
One will think that all the roads in
governor Amaechi's village are
tarred. The last time I passed his
village, their was a great pool of
impassable water right in front of
his village house. Everyone knows
that road construction in the
Niger Delta can only take place
impressively during the dry
season which is minimal in the
region .
If Rotimi Amaechi can just take
one stance, it's ok to agree with
him. But his utterances are too flip
flopping .
In one breath he claims to be
saving 1 billion Rivers state funds
every month, in another he is
challenging president Jonathan
for saving money through the
Sovereign wealth fund.
In one breath, he is suspending
local government chairmen for
coming late to an occasion, in
another breath he walks in late to
a function where the president is
seated and attempts to swagger
towards him and have a
handshake.
He complains that the presidency
is hounding him because of his
2015 ambition, yet he chased
Abiye Sekibo and others out of
Rivers State, sealed their
campaign offices before the
election.
Today he sees nothing wrong
with opening a PDP factional
office close to the government
house, but he sealed up a building
in Ohaeto street, arrested 12
prominent Rivers people, detained
them and charged them for
cultism, which is a non bail able
offense.
Their crime was they dared to
open a factional office of the PDP.
Everyday he is in the news talking
about Jonathan, even in
international media, Jonathan did
this, Jonathan did not do this,
haba!, has he finished doing his
own work as Rivers state
governor? It's pathetic , really
pathetic. -
