Mobilizing a health technology workforce to improve population health outcomes

In a developing country like Nigeria where information technology is upcoming and its adoption is quite slow, the benefits of health technologies are widely underestimated. The health status of Nigeria is one of the poorest in the world as evidenced by the current health statistics. Infectious diseases which have been completely eradicated in developed countries are still plaguing and contributing to the increasing mortality rates in Nigeria. The downtrend in health status is largely due to poor health prevention strategies, as the average Nigerian is most likely to wait until his/her health situation is highly discomforting or life threatening before seeking aid. Unfortunately, the impoverished citizens are the ones who bear majority of the burden. To be at par with most other developed countries, especially health wise, Nigeria has to stand up and adopt PREVENTIVE HEALTH!!!. This will both lower mortality rates, reduce health costs and overall improve healthy lifestyles.

Passion for health Aid is a non-profit human development organization which evolved out of an inspiring quest to improve health especially in under-served populations of Africa. Our strategies follow an unconventional route involving human capacity development through public health research, education, empowerment and promotion of healthy lifestyles.

We are currently offering 6-month Certificate programs in Applied health Informatics and operations research, which are geared towards empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to improve health through health technology innovations. The rationale behind this course is promoting research and innovations. The aim of these programs is to sensitize a workforce that can improve the population health of Nigerians through designing, promoting and applying cost effective health technologies. But first! that workforce has to be educated, trained and empowered.

This program is offered completely online through an Indian based NGO, Foundations of health technologies society. Foundations of health technologies society is a National society which integrates information technology and public health in a bid to enhance population health outcomes. They are also widely known for several pioneer technological innovations and social initiatives in New Dehli, India.
Their major focus areas include capacity building through innovative training programs and health awareness camps. Passion for health Aid is a Nigerian based organization serving as a focal point for deploying and disseminating the training programs offered by FHTS in Nigeria.

As part of the program, We offer trainings, conferences and research workshops to students of our programs which typically last for about 7-10days and will be hosted by the Foundation of health Technologies society (FHTS) in India. These workshops feature notable personalities in public health and various ongoing innovations in the field. They provide insights into the various advancements being made in Public health in the developing society.
We assist in travel bookings, accomodations and transportation at subsidized rates for the participants. Costs are covered by the participants.
