PMP means Project Management Professional. To become a PMP, you need to undergo an exam based on PMBoK. PMBoK means Project Management Body of Knowledge. It is a standard developed by PMI – Project Management Institute USA. PMP is an examination that tests Project Managers’ competence, skill and knowledge. It is a knowledge based exam. It is required of any intending candidate to have worked in a project environment for a period of 3 years before they can be allowed to take the exam. You need to have accumulated at least 4500hours of project management experience if they have a university degree. If you do not have a university degree, you need to have accumulated 7500 hours of project management experience.
