Why does the president make utterances that are unbecoming to his office as the GCFR of Nigeria?

This comment shows ineptitude on his part and its mind boggling that the president makes prosaic comments that it seems like he is constantly being quoted out of context. This is the kind of statement you hear in a beer parlor or among the market women. A whole President who has under his command the whole machinery of the Nigerian Security forces, showing signs of weakness and not only that, acting helpless and displaying cluelessness as he has just performed and act of skoptsy with this statement

As the president, there are tactical statements that makes more sense than rushing to make comments like our dear president has been doing. Firstly, I'll instruct the security chiefs not to make unconfirmed assumptions like proclaiming Shekau dead without visual evidence.

How much does a drone cost? with 5 million USD you will get a predator drone, i can not begin to expantiate on the effeciency of this piece of invetion, a single Predator drone would conveniently carry out intelligence and reconnaissance-gathering, for up to 14 hours. We need to invest on the intelligence department in this country. We only make purchases when its inevitable that we need them , in most cases we panic-buy; Our fleet of modern fighter jet 12 in number was purchased by OBJ, out of which 3 have been reported crashing at one time or the other, what happens to the option of continuity? why cant we consistently invest in our defense department.

Another thing is the issue of the PR guys being used by the president, they are simply pathetic. Constantly making wrong utterances as they have successfully done a shoddy job at protecting our nelipot president, that they are best described as unprofessional, based on their maledicent pronunciations. It is quite Jumentous that the office of the president can not afford to employ the right set of PR guys apart from a failed politician and a journalist. What does a journalist know about PR? (no offense intended) The only thing they are good at is writing rejoinders and articles, no wonder they sound inaniloquent when making statements because they are simply incapable. They are not to be blamed, because a man cannot function beyond his level of exposure, hence their constantly gambrinous misdemeanor which betrays the level of sophistication required of the post which they occupy.

considering how forceful nigerians demands are for information regarding the operations of JTF the security chiefs may be compelled to give information. I don't need to tell you but I believe you know the JTF spokesman had to plead with journalist to be circumspect with information immediately the state of emergency was declared. At the same time they have to show nigerian that they are working and successful too. and they did that within available evidences. Besides, you should know that it took almost a month between of the time shekau was shot to the time the statement of his death was released. I don't need to explain the reasons to you. ( they simply wanted to be very sure and also to get evidence. but from their judgement he was shot and could not have survived) but Nigerians need to know.

Can you kindly explain how a drone would have prevented the two Yobe student killings. I'd like to know. and please be very sure of your facts.

If you are honest with yourself, you'll know that Nigeria has not faced this kind of hostile environment since the inception of this country. Looking at it both politically or security-wise.I see it as cultural shock. we have never had a vocal opposition party like we have now and our security forces have never been this stretched. you should know this.

Let's not be so negative it would lead to despondency.People are working ; and you know it. I won't blame you because people outside a playing pitch always feel they know better than those on the pitch.

Firstly, responding with words that portrays lalochezia, rhetorics and conjectures would do a disservice to the purpose of this discourse, which is to point out what could have been improved on. Having said this, a drone would increase the capabilities of the ground forces, solely because of its specifications which includes a synthetic aperture radar for looking through smoke, clouds or haze, taking into consideration that the area in question is an arid area which makes it easier for the view to be unhindered and with clearer visibility when compared to the rainforest. A simple investment in empowering the personels on ground would greatly increase their effectiveness.

The point I'm trying to make is not about the drones, but rather need to improve in the area of intelligence gathering, the mere fact that the attacks were carried out with guns and the large number of personels involved should give an insight into the lack of tactical intelligence gathering on our part as a nation. It would have been pardonable if it was a case of suicide bombing, but we are talking of an all out attack on the students by fully armed insurgents.

Finally, the issue of the peculiarity of the situation is an act of autolatry aimed at flattering ourselves with an underlying aim of shying away from taking full responsibility for our condition. We need to stop deceiving ourselves, everything seems to be treated in a shoddy manner; we continue to do things wrongly and expect the military to perform miracles without equipping them. One thing Israel has going for them as a nation is there surveillance methods; while we are not saying that Nigeria should be at the same standard as Israel, if after 53 years of independence we are still having wrong policies and a situation of total collapse of our tertiary institution, all happening while the government seems bereft of ideas on how to tackle them; then we are not serious at all. A blandiloquent approach to tackling an act of terror is wrong in its entirety and a change of policies which would best serve the purpose of addressing the current quagmire, should be the way forward.

The whole world is constantly preparing for eventualities in the face of the threat being posed by insurgents and as a nation, we cannot afford to continue playing the role of a gongoozler, without making meaningful progress in preparing ourselves. We call ourselves leaders in the AU and ECOWAS, but we are found wanting in the area of addressing insurgents? Isn't it laughable that we still can't devise a means of improving our capabilities to face these threats?

Please bear in mind that Nigeria is not the first country where such is happening. Some people have already solved similar problems in their countries. If GEJ is smart enough to apply similar measures, we'll get a similar results.

Security is everybody's business. The Northern elders unwittingly invited terrorist to their region during the post-election violence in 2001. Dislodging them will take years. All hands must be on deck to achieve any meaningful success.

Donmams: Let me be clear GEJ. We are well aware that the brazen massacre of innocent people and students in Borno and Yobe is the handiwork of Ihejirika's death squads. We know this is all a ploy to sustain the emergency rule to 2015. But let's be clear, no amount of emergency rule will make it possible for you to rig the elections in the north in 2015. Your crimes against the north will not go unpunished. I promise you!

President Jonathan said those who want to use the diversity of the nation to create crisis in the country will not succeed because God has a purpose for allowing Lord Lugard to amalgamate the northern and Southern Protectorate to form the nation.

that got me laughing my ass out.
Lord Lugard was probably only working to achieve convenience.

My lady, whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well. If you work in a corporate environment, your superiors would not think twice before pulling the trigger on you if you underperform (not even minding the reasons behind your underperformance). As the president of the country, he is supposed to do what presidents do. Its people's lives we are talking about 4 chrissakes! Who knows who'll die next? BH is not the 1st case of its kind. Other leaders have dealt with similar (or even worse) cases at one time or the other. All he has to do is take a cue!
Mind you, we can't all be leaders. In times of "confusion", people look up to their leaders for direction because he's supposed to always have an answer. If he can't take the heat,.... I rest my case.
