pDude: So how has this made Nigeria better

-Its creates employment opportunity even from the day the construction began.
-Put Lagos and Nigeria on the list of cities/countries with standard hotels.
-Lagos state tax them, which is a source of income for the state. thereby increasing her IGR where the state get money to execute projects such as roads, bridges, hospitals and other infrastructures that benefit Lagosians.

etc...

naptu2: The Milan Group (owners of Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos) import this item into Nigeria (it completely dominates the market)

you mean after several decades they are still importing it? thats bad business - they couldn't localize the production?

That's what I've always wondered. The refinery is in France. Now some powerful people (you can guess who they are) are pressurising the government to ban the importation of sugar.

blacksta: Is this a hotel opening or fashion show - I was expecting to see pictures of rooms and hotel facilities - I was definitely not exepcting to see gate crashing local celebs

great architecture though, saw the building from one side last year march, i was surprised they will build a 'small' straight hotel on prime land...until we drove past WOooW!

Someone is planning to build a "7 star" hotel on Ikoyi Crescent, while someone else is planning to build a 5 star hotel on Glover Road.
