Title : STRANGE FAIRYTALE

A kid (gjw) is in a store that sells TV's with another kid, on one of the displayed TV there's an animated show titled the bong bong Brothers, the show is about a family where the mother gets stolen by a dragon and the 2 sons go on an adventure to save their mom. Gjw tells the other kid "my dad created the bong bong brothers". The kid calls gjw a liar and leaves with his mom. Gjw watches them leave sadly (me : I'm guessing he has no mom). Jys comes to stand by gjw (they're brothers), gjw says kids don't believe anything these days, Jys ruffles gjw's hair and tells him "i'll buy a house" gjw says stop lying, Jys says "see? You don't trust me either".

They're running about happily, sharing posters for a ramen restaurant. They get to the front of a house and Jys says "I was lying about buying a house, but we lived here when we were younger with mom and dad, I'm going to save money and move in there. What do you think, isn't it great?" gjw asks when? Jys says as soon as possible, I don't want mom to get confused, she thinks that we still live there. Gjw says mom, isn't she in Japan? Jys says she promised me she'll come back when I go to middle school. A bigger kid comes out of the house and asks them why they're sharing posters when there's easier ways to make money, he tells them to join him. A woman's voice from the house calls out "youngbae, are you going to meet that thug again" the bigger kid(youngbae) runs away. The woman comes out (I'm guessing she's youngbae's grandma), the boys greet her, Jys asks if the room is still available, she asks if he's come up with the money (me:erm that's a kid o) he says almost, she says really? I guess your mom sent you some money, I guess she's making enough now. Jys says pardon? Almeoni says nothing nothing, go on (me:hmm something's, fishy)

The boys live in a motel, lol a couple comes out holding onto each other and Jys closes gjw's eyes and gjw is like why bother lol (me: I'm pretty sure he's old enough to know what happens at motels if he lives there). The walls of their room is covered with paper drawings of the bong bong brothers, gjw wants to watch TV but Jys frowns and gjw reluctantly goes to do his homework (me:wow responsible babies, I love). Jys opens a book, there's a photograph of their family from when he was much younger and gjw just a baby, he is surprised and shouts "it's gone". He removes the picture.

Kjt is in front of an office, staging a one man protest, on his placard "the media does not respect the rights of artists, give me back my sons, the bong bong brothers" (he's their dad). An executive goes to him and asks "have you eaten? You shouldn't skip meals you know, we all do this to make a living, if you haven't eaten let's go to the cafeteria.. " Kjt (his name is Jang sanggu) says shut up you thief! Exec says ya, watch your mouth, if I hadn't worked hard, the bong bong brothers wouldn't have been this successful. Sanggu says enough! I'm preparing for a lawsuit, get ready. Exec sighs and goes into his office. Jys goes to meet sanggu and angrily asks where is it, my bank book? I know it was you, give it to me. Sanggu takes Jys (his name is subong) to a corner and gives him the book. Subong opens it, his money has been withdrawn, he looks at sanggu angrily and says explain but I'll only forgive you if it's not about lawyers or the bong bong brothers. Sanggu says it's about a lawyer and bong bong brothers but he's a good one, that's why he's expensive *sigh*. Subong starts pushing him and says let's go get the money back. Sanggu says he can't get the money back cos the lawsuit has started. Subong sits on the floor and cries "do you know how I saved that money?" sanggu says subong can you trust me just this once? Subong stands and says trust you? You stole money from your son. Sanggu says I'm fighting alone to make things work and you can't support me a little?*sigh* you know how hard I worked staying up late nights to create the bong bong brothers, he took it from me. I'll buy you chicken and pizza. Subong leaves angrily.

He's in an alley, he brings out their family picture from his fanny pack, lol he wants to tear his dad out but can't bring himself to, he folds the picture instead so his dad is on the other side, while he, mom and gjw are on one side (awwnn). He sees a poster advertising tours to Japan with a lady wearing a kimono on the poster, he brings out his picture and looks at his mom.

Youngbae and his fellow child thug are eating at a ramen restaurant, subong is there arguing with the owner, apparently he was supposed to get 500 won for handing out posters but owner gave him 400 won saying how does he know he didn't throw the posters somewhere. Youngbae and fellow thug come and threaten owner, he pays subong his full money (me:*sigh* why are people so shi!tty sef)

Outside subong thanks the thug, youngbae says give me 5 dollars, laughs and says he's just kidding, the bigger kid thug tells subong "wow you were quite brave, I was impressed. I heard you support your family, we're doing something and you're perfect for the job". Youngbae says no hyung, he won't do it. Hyung tells subong he can pay him more than he gets for sharing posters. Subong agrees to work for the thug (me: nooooo my baby).

Meanwhile sanggu's lawyer is able to draw a contract that prohibits the media from doing anything with bong bong brothers without permission from sanggu.

Youngbae takes subong to a pc bang and tell him to keep watch and cough if he sees the owner coming, youngbae goes seat by seat stealing wallets while subong watches, he's surprised but he's already in.

He sits pretending to be a customer while he watches the owner, the owner suspects youngbae cos he's just standing about, as he's about to move to him subong starts coughing and owner goes to check on him, youngbae is able to leave.

They take the money to bigger kid thug, he gives subong a phone and tells him to reach him through it and gives him his pay for the day. Bigger thug leaves and youngbae asks subong "why did you suddenly decide to join us, is your dad in debt again?" subong Says it's not that, youngbae says save up and go to your mom, where was she, I think I heard? Subong says I will, she's in Japan. Youngbae says Japan? No it started with hok.. Don't you know? When my grandma was talking to your dad about rent I heard it, it was hok something, right, hokkai, that's it. Subong says Hokkaido? Youngbae says yes, subong asks Hokkaido where? Youngbae says I don't remember, ask your dad, he should know.

Subong goes home, he bought pizza, toys and storybooks for gjw(his name is jaebong). Jaebong says hyung I like you (me:eotteoke my hearteu can't take this), subong asks him if he'd like to go to Japan to look for mom. Subong let's go look for her, if we keep living with dad, it'll get harder and harder, we need to bring mom back, mom studied more than dad so she must be smarter than him. He tells jaebong to keep it a secret from their dad. Sanggu comes up, subong is still angry with him, sanggu tickles jaebong, he wants to tickle subong too but oga says don't, sanggu continues playing with jaebong. A text comes into the phone thug gave subong "7am tomorrow at the busstop, let's make lots of money, hwaiting!"

Subong wakes up in the middle of the night, sanggu is drawing, subong says he wants to talk and goes out, sanggu goes after him. Subong says you have 2 choices, either give up on the bong bong brothers, get a job and live happily or don't give up on the bong bong brothers, get further in debt, get kicked out of here and live in misery. Sanggu says the choices are too extreme, I choose no 3, get the bong bong brothers, make lots of money, buy a big house and live happily ever after. Subong says how are you going to live in a dream? Sanggu says at times like this, you're just like your mom. You can't live by only holding onto reality, you need to have dreams to get through hard times. Subong says there's only so much we can take, I heard mom was in Hokkaido. Sanggu says who told you that? Subong asks "do you know how to contact her?" sanggu says she needs to finish her studies without interruption. They go back inside, subong sleeps off while smiling at the picture of his mom.

Exec is out drinking with his colleagues, he sees subong hanging out with his thugs who are telling him he can make 300 dollars in a day if he continues to roll with them. A guy is passed out drunk on the road, bigger thug kid asks subong to rob him, subong can't do it, youngbae does it instead, takes his phone and the cash in his wallet. Exec comes and says subong is that you, thug pushes him and runs away, jaebong runs too, subong tries but exec catches him.

He takes subong to a restaurant and buys him food while complaining of a backache cos of the push. Subong refuses to eat, exec asks if he's hanging with the thugs to make money for his father? Subong says he's trying to make money to travel to Hokkaido in Japan to meet his mom. Exec laughs and says his mom is not in Japan but works at a sushi restaurant called Hokkaido which is in Seoul there aigoo.

Subong looks the restaurant up online and calls their number, he asks if a yeom Mari (his mom) works there, the owner says yes, my boy is heartbroken.

The next day subong tells jaebong to wait for him after school so they'll go see their mom cos she's in Seoul, jaebong says he's nervous as he hasn't seen her for so long.

At the close of school, subong goes to pick jaebong, his phone rings, big kid thug shouts angrily that subong snitched on them cos exec reported him to the cops, subong says he never said anything, all he did was eat. Thug says he's coming to beat the black and blue out of subong. Subong starts to run with jaebong, thug is already waiting at the school gate and starts to chase them. They are able to lose him at the subway station (eeyah poor baby, in the process of buying a ticket in a hurry most of his money fell out).

Sanggu gets home with pizza. The house is empty.

On the road, jaebong is complaining that his legs hurt, subong says his legs hurt too but piggybacks jaebong (eotteoke these babies are speaking to my ovaries, I want to born lol) jaebong says I don't remember mom, subong says don't worry she'll remember you. A police car drives by, one of the policemen says "boys it's too late to walk this night" lol jaebong says we're lost and subong laughs nervously

Sanggu is roaming the streets searching for his kids, his phone rings, it's exec, sanggu picks and says what? Exec says they should come to a settlement about bong bong, sanggu asks why he's being desperate now, exec says he has information about subong.

Sanggu goes to meet exec at a bar where he's drinking with a girl, he asks where the kids are? Exec says things would have been better if your wife were here, subong is going through puberty, he needs special care. Sanggu shouts "stop talking nonsense" lol the bar girl is startled and asks exec what's wrong with sanggu? Exec asks her to excuse them, he tells sanggu, you can't just neglect subong, I saw him hanging out with some punks and stealing from a drunk unconscious man, I'm sure the police are after those punks but I took care of those punks myself. Thank God I saw him, something terrible might have happened to him. Sanggu grabs exec by the collar, exec says I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart, I know you're going through a lot but pull yourself together for subong, subong is getting into trouble because of you, if you don't believe me ask your son. Sanggu asks where did they go? Exec says I was afraid they would go to the airport so I told him the truth, Hokkaido in Seoul not Japan.

The police takes the boys to Hokkaido.

Sanggu gets on a bus to Hokkaido feeling guilty about subong's gangsta life (lol I'm a fool).

At Hokkaido, the kids meet their mom, sad joyful tears all round (awwnn *wipes tears*).

They're at her room eating cup

ramen, she asks how he knew she was there, did sanggu tell him? She gets scared and asks if something happened to their dad? He says no. She takes him outside and asks again, he says he just wanted to come see her, he asks her to come live with them, she says even if I do, nothing will change, subong says no, if you come back, everything will be OK. She says it's not that simple, let's go in, it's cold. Subong screams "jaebong and I live in a sleazy motel, we have no home, if you were with us, we wouldn't have ended up there, please mom". She says the room is too small, I'll sleep at the restaurant, go inside. She leaves. He runs after her and shows her his bank book, he cries I had this much money, I don't have it anymore but I can save it again, rent a room, save more money and move to a bigger place, please mom. She shouts subong! He says then can you come back next year? You promised me that you'd come back when I started middle school. She shouts stop being such a kid (me: bi!tch, he is a kid) look at me and your father, don't you understand what's happening, When are you going to grow up and face reality? (Heol!) OK ok, I'll tell you everything, your dad and I have been divorced for quite some time. I was tired of your father constantly living in his dreams, I wanted to do something to turn things around... Subong is just full on ugly crying. She holds him and says subong my boy, you're big enough to understand me aren't you? Don't do this, you're breaking my heart, go inside. She leaves crying.

Sanggu arrives at Hokkaido, he knocks, Mari comes out, it's obvious they don't like each other. He asks if the kids are there? She says even after I left you, you haven’t changed, are you still obsessed with the bong bong brothers. Sanggu shouts subong! She says they're not here, they're in my room. He starts going to the room, she screams what kind of father are you? (me:what kind of mother are you?) how can you make them live in a sleazy motel. He says you have no right to criticize me. You know what? I thought you'd come to see them even once, they're still your flesh and blood. She says do you think I ran away because of them? Are you happy living in a fairytale? I was sick of you being so selfish and not caring about anything else, all you cared about was drawing. He says that's why I couldn't give up on the bong bong brothers, that's the only thing I'm good at, I could make my boys happy... She says happy? How can you say that looking at them, if you really cared about them instead of drawing cartoons you should have worked at a construction site. He says so, is your life better than mine? Stop pretending that you're smarter than me. She says I tried but it didn't work, I was going to raise the boys myself, I wanted to live with them myself and did anything that I could do but it was hard for me to take care of myself, if you keep living in your dreams they might end up like us. Yes I'm a horrible and evil mother, that's why I want you to pull yourself together and take care of our children. They both cry. He says let them sleep, I'll pick them up in the morning. As he turns to leave, he sees subong walking away sadly, he heard everything (Lmao did they buy a pint of tears for this boy, cos the tears just be flowing anyhow) the dad tries to console him, it's just heartbreaking, father and son cry together.

They sit on the staircase, subong asks how much longer were you going to lie to me? Sanggu says until high school? Subong asks did you think I'd be that stupid, Why? Sanggu says you were too young and I only wanted you to have good memories of your mom. Subong says mom abandoned us, what kind of mother does that? Sanggu wants to explain, subong says stop, I don't believe anything you say, I won't say anything to you, do whatever you want. He stands to leave, sanggu asks did you see my friend gipung? Lol subong is scared and says no, sanggu is heartbroken that his kid is lying to him. He turns subong around and says look at me, are you sure you didn't see him? I trust you, if you tell me you didn't see him, I'll believe you. Subong sha says sanggu doesn't care about anyone but bong bong brothers and has no right to scold him, he leaves.

The next day, they're going home. Thugs keep calling subong, he ignores. Sanggu's phone rings its gipung, he asks if sanggu found the kids? Sanggu says yes, thank you. Gipung threatens to tell the police that subong is a member of gang if sanggu doesn't settle with him. Sanggu asks the boys to go home that he'll go buy ramen for them. As they get home the thugs are waiting, they take subong away. Sanggu comes with the ramen and finds jaebong standing alone crying, he asks where subong is (Lmao I just realized that their names end in bong and they are the inspiration for the bong bong brothers lol I'm a fooo). They start searching for subong.

Subong is chopping heavy beat down from thug, he keeps saying he didn't snitch. Youngbae tries to beg on his behalf but thug threatens to beat him too. Thug says he has to work for all the days they missed. Subong returns the phone and says he no longer wants to join, thug beats him some more saying I took pity on you because your dad is worse than a beggar that steals money from his own son. Subong kicks him in the nuts, grabs his collar, says don't disrespect my dad, hits him with his head and bites him. Thug recovers and continues beating subong, he raises a rock to bash subong and sanggu appears and holds his hand, he says so you're the one forcing my son to steal right? Thug says now you're playing father, sanggu says the police are looking for you, save yourself and leave my son alone. Thug says no problem but are you going to be by his side 24/7, I'll continue to harass him, I'll continue to collect money from him. Sanggu says what can I do to make you stop. Thug asks for 2000, i couldn't work as the police are after me and my bosses will kill me if I don't give them money, I don't want to chase Subong around, but I have to support myself. OK I'll settle for 1500, that's the least amount my bosses will accept. Sanggu says he'll get the money and takes his children away.

At home sanggu cleans subong's injuries, subong tells him not to bother with the thugs that he'll take care of it(me:ahn ahn bigs boy) sanggu says he'll handle it, promise me you won't do this again. His phone rings, it's his lawyer asking for his balance so they can prepare for trial, sanggu says he'll call him later. He looks at all his drawings, sees jaebong eating raw ramen and subong covered in injuries, he realizes his children's well being is more important than the lawsuit.

He goes to gipung and says he feels bad he can't take care of his own children, the most important quality about the bong bong brothers is that they never cry unless they're happy, it has to be a happy ending, when I first created them using my sons as models, that was the principle I made. I will withdraw the lawsuit. Gipung says sarcastically "why? I'm afraid". Sanggu says subong won't get involved with crime anymore, can you protect him from the police? Gipung smiles and says of course I can, kids can get into trouble while growing up, don't worry. Sanggu says thank you. Gipung says now you want to be their father, don't worry about it, he gives sanggu some money for settlement and says pay your debts and send your kids to a private academy.

He gives thug his money and tells him to never bother subong or he'll report him to the police.

Subong dreams about sanggu being attacked by thug, he runs out and tries to call him from a phone booth, the number doesn't respond, he's crying (me:lol dude it's a dream which kain guilty conscience be this one) he sees sanggu coming with chicken and pizza, he runs to him and says why didn't you pick your call, sanggu says his phone was on vibrate, he didn't know it rang. Subong screams you scared me, he hugs him and apologizes, crying and promising to never hang with thugs again.

On their way home, sanggu gives subong the money he stole from him, subong says he should keep it and pay him when he wins his lawsuit. Sanggu tells him he gave up, he says I'm going to make a better one and hit the jackpot, subong asks if it's because gipung is threatening to report him to the police. Sanggu says no, that gipung paid him for the rights. You and jaebong are the only bong bong brothers I want. They walk home happily.

Subong sends a letter with their family picture to his mom "like you said, I'm not a kid anymore, I thought if all 4 of us lived together we'd be happy but I don't think that's the only option, I don't want you to feel bad, I understand but I won't give up dreaming, I'll be happy without the bong bong brothers or you, that's my dream. She holds the picture to her heart and cries.

Subong gets a job delivering newspapers, he saves up a bit of money and he and jaebong buys their dad a drawing set for his birthday to create something cooler than the bong bong brothers with it. They go out to have birthday lunch. The endeu.

I would rate this 7/10

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT
1. The kids, urghh seriously some kids are just too cute

2. The story *sigh* a lot of lessons, number 1, make money cos all of the bull that happened in this drama was due to poverty. 2. I understand parents lie to their kids cos they want to protect them but seriously kids know everything and they'll find out anyway, if subong knew his mom wasn't in Japan, he wouldn't have joined bad gang to get travel money, even if he joined it would be for a totally different reason. 3. I know it's great to fight and not give up but there are some things you need to give up or fight another day for, oga was protecting his bong bong and his real children were basically dying, I get that it's painful to work hard and be robbed but what if subong or jaebong had died hanging with thugs, that's why I like my serenity prayer, you have to know the difference between things to fight for and things to let go 4. Don't born children you can't take care of, seriously don't!

3. Forget jipyeong, subong is the original good boy, so mature for his age, he was able to understand and forgive his mom, he's basically an angel

4. Did I mention the kids lol OK I did

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE
1. OK so this isn't really a big deal but the fight scene between subong and thug looked a bit fake but I understand they're kids, they can't be throwing leg upandan like Kim tan and Choi young do.

Random post : lol so this is actually a late post but I forgot to celebrate someone who recently made his acting debut. Jung jae ho lol he's one of the people who joined acting from heart signal that I actually like, the few who have transitioned into acting really annoyed me on that show, I like to pretend they don't exist lol. But not my Jaeho, funny enough, I didn't always like him, he's a cool guy, he didn't give me stress, he was into a girl who liked him back so it was cool(p.s: they're broken up, like all other heart signal couple, I swear those people only go on that show for fame, I don't know why I keep getting heartbroken for their big heads) anyway yes, he even schooled in America so his English is on point but he's so talkative, lol I was just like what is doing this one shut up sometimes lol. Anyway I'm happy and I hope he gets beautiful roles and becomes a top actor, he's also a beautiful singer. I remember he signed with esteem after heart signal and I thought he was going to be a model but I welcome this transition.

Speaking of heart signal, Lmao I just realized I totally have a type, throughout the 3 seasons I realized I always fall for the quiet guys first lol, and they have all ended up breaking my heart by being too reserved with showing their emotions, the girls they like always end up dumping them lol but wait sef o, all seasons have had controversial guys, someone in season 1 is currently in prison for rape, season 2 someone was arrested for drunk driving amongst other nasty rumors, now season 3 someone was accused and confessed to beating some girl up in a club, 2 girls were accused of bullying although they denied the allegations. Why do these people go on shows when they know they have shady histories and can end up exposed *sigh*.

Anyway it's a problematic show that has given me headache, will I watch season 4 if it is renewed, hells yeah cos I don't have sense and I'm probably a sadist.

Jung jae ho lol he's one of the people who joined acting from heart signal that I actually like, the few who have transitioned into acting really annoyed me on that show, I like to pretend they don't exist lol. I remember he signed with esteem after heart signal and I thought he was going to be a model but I welcome this transition.

Speaking of heart signal, Lmao I just realized I totally have a type, throughout the 3 seasons I realized I always fall for the quiet guys first lol, and they have all ended up breaking my heart by being too reserved with showing their emotions, the girls they like always end up dumping them lol but wait sef o, all seasons have had controversial guys, someone in season 1 is currently in prison for rape, season 2 someone was arrested for drunk driving amongst other nasty rumors, now season 3 someone was accused and confessed to beating some girl up in a club, 2 girls were accused of bullying although they denied the allegations. Why do these people go on shows when they know they have shady histories and can end up exposed *sigh*.

Anyway it's a problematic show that has given me headache, will I watch season 4 if it is renewed, hells yeah cos I don't have sense and I'm probably a sadist.
