15 October 1938 The king was
born : Fela Kuti a.k.a Anikulapo(He
who holds Death in his pouch)
multi-instrumentalist musician and
composer, pioneer of Afrobeat
music, human rights activist, and
political maverick.
Fela was sent to London in 1958 to
study medicine but decided to
study music
After Soldiers killed his mother he
took the coffin to General
Obasanjo's house & wrote 2 songs
"Coffin for the head of State" &
"Unknown Soldier"
In 1978 riots broke out during the
song "Zombie", which led to Fela
being banned from entering Ghana
He married 27 women but later
divorced them saying "marriage
brings jealousy and selfishness"
