My interview was for 7:30 but I have to give all glory to God, our nairalanders and all. @bodeplot has been awesome @imperiouxx@rickyrozay God bless you all for the tips. Lemme go straight to my interview my number was A147 and I was interviewed by the woman in window 3 I guess. The truth was after I entered the hall I didn't spend more than 30mins before my interview. I was looking out for my number to pop up and finally it did and this was how it went. Me:Good morning(with a smile) Vo-goodmorning VO-why chemical engineering Me-I had a bachelors degree in chemical engineering and I feel the need to heighten skills learnt in undergraduate(VO cuts in) VO- So you are going for a graduate degree Me-yes VO- so why this university Me- I applied to 5 universities in the US offering chemical engineering but wasn't accepted to 2 university of Akron and kansas. State university, I got 3 admits from tennessee tech university, clarkson state university and texas A&M univ-kingsville which I chose. I chose this univ because I was interested in the ongoing research in the chemical engr dept which is inline wv the area I wld specialize in Secondly, they have a strong alumni base here in nigeria where some of their allumnus work in our oil companies, getting a degree from this skl wld gimme a lot of job opportunities to benefit from once I return. (She was nodding and impressed by that and wanted to cut me off) I smilled and said do you know they have an affordable tuition and they gave me schollarship of abt xxxxdollls (She looked in my I-20 and smiled) I said they allso have distinguished professors to groom me into a more competent engineer Lastly, they have a very good chem engr curriculum where they infuse nat gas engineering in their curriculum. VO-what skl did u grad from Me-Obafemi Awolowo University VO-In nigeria Me- yes VO- have you travelled outside nigeria before Me-Yes, Ghana VO- what is your study plan Me- there is an ongoing rehabilitation of our oil refineries here in Nigeria which should commence operations in 2016, around the same time I should be back(she looks into my I-20 and does the AGAMA nod) I intend to apply in here when I return since our govt. Has made known the need for expertise in my field. Also, our chem engr industries here in nigeria have produced at sub-optimal quality and the area I specializing addresses this need. VO- how would you pay for your studies Me-my elder brother who I currently stay with, he works as a ..... And does bllah blah blah VO- do you have your financial documents here Me-yes and I passed it to her She looked at it for 2mins page after page did her calculation and smiled back VO-she gave me the white paper and I didn't hear the remaining things she said. I really want to thank God allmighty because it all happened like miracle, she allowed me to talk and she looked as if she enjoyed it. She refused the 2 people before me, it was the chinko in counter 1 that gave people. All I can say is if we have more than a reason for why the school, plans after studies we are good. Be calm and stand confident, most people there are always leaning towards the glass so the VO can hear them well. There is a speaker for u on each counter up that the VO uses to hear you properly. Ignore pple around being rejected and have it at the back of your mind that God is with you and you just came to get your visa. I still heard some peeps with I-20's from VIU,everest and all. I wasn't praying for the woman I got as I felt she was harsh today but I thank God that I was favoured. If you are going for ur interview soon pray, prepare and be calm. Dress well and look good and happy, there wlld be a llot of bleeps here cos I am not proof reading it, cheers. The 4 Likes 1 Share |

Guys please I need you to give me insights on this. I am currently in the States with a visiting visa that will expire by February. My question is Can I apply for th F1 visa right here without going back to Nigeria or is there a way I can get to convert my current status as a visitor to studentship within the period of expiration without having to go back to Nigeria? And if it's possible, what are the necessary steps alos if it's not, what advice will you give me? Please i need an answer on this, help a brethren |

Go back to 9ja first and apply for school. if you do it from here, you'll be referred to your country of nationality for document process and guess what, that's outright denial. don't take that chance. |
