Nigeria is now a country were people in positions of authority do terrible things
and get away with them with impunity, especially since President Goodluck
Jonathan came into power.
Under President Olusegun Obasanjo, the most senior police officer, IGP Tafa
Balogun, was prosecuted for his involvement in corrupt practice and convicted. A
Senate President and some Serving Ministers found to be corrupt also faced the
same fate, .Com observed.
But these days, once you are close to President Jonathan or his wife, you have a
blank cheque to spend our money anyhow and the presidency will even defend

While millions of Nigerians are calling for the sack of the Aviation Minister, Stella
Oduah, the government is, in his usual characteristics, singing a very different
tone.
As you read this, the government has begun a manhunt for the whistleblower that
broke the story of the two BMW armoured cars bought for Ms. Stella Oduah at a
ridiculous price of N255m.
The Director-General, NCAA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, disclosed this at a press
conference at the head office Ministry in Abuja on Friday.
In the words of the Director-General: “I am not saying that this particular
information should not be put in the public domain. But how it was obtained is the
concern... So we are in the process of trying to find the source of this leakage and
I am very concerned about it.
"Because this information may look trivial but there are other information that we
have that are confidential and it is only fair for us to respect the confidentiality of
information. I am not saying that they broke into our office, but they obtained the
information illegally.”
The visibly terrified Director-General claimed that "Coscharis, as far as I
understand, is about the only guy that sells BMW of this nature in Nigeria. If he is
the only one selling, then you must buy from him if you want the car and he can
name the price. So those are factors that may have resulted [in the N255mprice].
But mind you, I am not holding brief for this.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have continued to express their dissatisfaction with the
agency’s action.
The External Relations Manager for most automobile firms including CFAO Motors,
Dr. Oscar Odiboh, said the price of the two cars is outrageous. He described it as
an embarrassment to those operating Nigeria’s automobile industry.
“It dents the image of the automobile industry because we are being branded as
people who fix ridiculous prices for their products,” he said.
Also, the President of Aviation Roundtable, Captain Dele Ore, said that the prices
quoted for the 2 armoured vehicles are over inflated.
He said, “By the information that I have at my disposal, I can categorically say that
a single armoured vehicle cannot be more expensive than N40m. The amount of
N225m which was quoted as the prices of the vehicles was definitely outrageous .

All your references keep telling us how inflated the prices are without telling us the real price. Nice. Here is some information for you.
Dino Melaya and Sahara Reporters have been peddling falsehood about the Cars bought by the Minister of Aviation. I checked the price of the vehicles and realized that BMW Security Vehicles only provide used vehicle prices on their website. Brochures for new one can only be downloaded on request.
