President Jonathan is at the moment live in Ekiti State. He is set to commission projects at Afe Babalola University. He is now live on NTA

The president is just about to commission an engineering building complex in Afe Babalola University. It seems the building is named after the president.

Earlier the president used the opportunity of the occasion to appeal to ASUU once again to call off the ongoing strike. He re-affirmed govt's committment to revitalize the infrastructures in the public universities.

I can now confirm that the engineering building, one of the biggest in Africa, is named after the president.

The president has just commissioned the building and is currently taken a tour in it.

Also present at the occasion is the governor of Ekiti state, the governor of Ondo state, governor of Gombe state, minister of police affairs, minister of state for FCT,etc

Earlier the governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, appealed to the president for a domestic Airport in the state and Federal Secretariat to built in the state. He also complained about the state of some federal roads in the state.

Afe Babalola University will be graduating its pioneer students this weekend. About 100 students in total, with about 18 graduating with first class honours. The convocation ceremony is on Monday. The university is about 3 and half years old.

Is it a state university?

If the visit of the president to Ekiti state is not an important news to you, worthy of being on the board of politics section, then I wonder what you come to NL to do. You seem to have your priorities wrong. Perhaps you should move to entertainment section.

That is why ASUU is on strike! If Jonathan keeps to the 2009 agreement and disburse adequate funds meant for tertiary institutions,you won't make that silly comment.

Lets not derail this thread. But suffice to say that what I saw at Afe Babalola University can be achieved with a fraction of what currently goes into any of the public universities. You need to see the multiple revenue generating machinaries in the school. They dont depend only on tuition fees.

Suprisingly nobody knew about the Ondo State was building any power plant. Many state governors are working silently.

The power plant has now been commissioned

The foundation laying ceremony for Omotosho II plant was laid in April 2010. So effectively, the plant was completed in about 3 years.
