NIGERIA Would Have Been Far Better If GEJ Was Not Contesting 2015 by mekaboy(m): 7:28pm On Oct 20, 2013 |
I believe that Nigeria would have been 20% better than it is today if Jonathan was not contesting 2015 election. Because the president intends to contest 2015 election, he needs favor from many corrupt politicians. To get their support for 2015, he has to turn a blind eye to corruption, let them do whatever they like as long as he gets their support. The reason why he has to turn a blind eye to corruption is that, it is these corrupt practices that he will use against them if they refuse to support his ambition . The reason i know that Jonathan wants to contest 2015 election is the level of corruption going on in this administration. there are 2 things involved in this administration. 1, loot all you can while in office now, Nigeria might not exist beyond 2015. 2, loot all you can and pledge your support for jonathan in 2015 just incase Nigeria remains. If jonathan had no intention to contest 2015 elections, he would have been suicidal in this administration. He would have ensured that the subsidy cabal are all in jail now. farouk and the rest of the corrupt politicians would have been in jail by now. Road contracts would have been moving at a fast speed, the police would be more disciplined, boko haram sponsors would be in jail by now. But for the 2015 ambition, alot of things have gone wrong, and Nigerians have to be sacrificed for this ambition . Let us hope pray that if GEJ wins his last tenure in office, he will confront corruption, knowing its his last tenure. |

Was it Jonathan's ambition that made ABACHA to loot? Was it Jonathan's ambition that made Obasanjo and IBB to loot? How come Nigeria was deep in corruption before the coming of Jonathan, may be his birth gave rise to corruption in Nigeria? Kindly look beyond Jonathan if you want to know the origin of corruption in our society today. Fighting corruption now in Nigeria is extremely difficult because we see corruption from tribal angle. 7 Likes |

OP you may have had a good point but the presentation is sensational. GEJ must be cautious before firing since all the ministers are nominees from one person or state or tribe or religion. We are still the ones to cry aloud blaming him for removing them (eg Stella) for not supporting his(GEJ) ambition. Remember the Prof Ruqayyatu(hope I got it right) case? 1 Like |

I am not saying Jonathan is the originator of corruption, but that he was suppose to bring it to an end. He had the chance to do it, but for the fact that he needs favor from the corrupt politicians who are capable of delivering votes for 2015, he has to turn a blind eye. Trust me, if Jonathan had no intention of contesting 2015, he would have dealt seriously with corrupt politicians. 3 Likes |

Op must be Sick, The money looted by past Governments are all because of GEJ's Ambition. I am not saying Jonathan is the originator of corruption, but that he was suppose to bring it to an end. He had the chance to do it, but for the fact that he needs favor from the corrupt politicians who are capable of delivering votes for 2015, he has to turn a blind eye. You think is easy to eliminate corruption in Nigeria? GEJ cannot eliminate corruption totally in Nigeria, the little he is doing has put him under fire from several sides. Only the Nigerian masses can put an end to corruption through a Revolution but we are busy shouting Igbo, Yoruoba, Hausa all over the places and the people looting our commonwealth are also busy adding fire to the tribalism so that we wont realize whats happening because we are so engulfed in tribalism and self hatred... People like Dele giwa and Bola Ige that raised their voices against corruption where are they now? DEEPLY DEAD, Who killed them? (No one is telling us and no one is asking questions) Where were all these people shouting GEJ is corrupt when Bola Ige was killed? Where was SaharaReporters? Where Was Tinibu then? What did they say? So why did they just wake up during GEJ's time?..... I know all these people will get back to sleep once GEJ leaves office and someone that serve their masters interest gets into power. It is time we ask ourselves questions and tell ourselves the truth, All these crying and so called progressive politicians are all crying for their belle and pockets, The last thing on their mind is to solve the problem of the masses, No be today e start and no be today e go end unless we decide to end it. if you think that by voting out PDP Nigeria's problem will end then you are on ride going straight to the land of no return..... Till we stop celebrating criminals, Rise up and get rid of these selfish politicians then we aint going anywhere in the next 100yrs to come. 7 Likes |

mekaboy: Really, I hope you wont say otherwise if GEJ arrests OBJ, Tinibu, Buhari, IBB, Farouk, T.A Orji and kill them all. If it comes to the John Rawlings style of getting rid of corruption, Believe me some people will cause War in Nigeria because they will see it as a hunt against their tribe. 1 Like |

gboss4sure: OMEGA SHUT UP FOR YOU JOR!!!! The 1966 saga was different.. Killing OBJ and leaving Edwin Clarke is entirely different ball game. Killing IBB and leaving Anini is an entirely different ball game. Killing Amaechi and leaving Uduaghan is an entirely different ball game. Killing Tinubu and leaving Kalu ot Obi etc is an entirely different ball game. Killing Dangote and leaving Adenuga is an entirely different ball game. Killing otedola and leaving Ify Ubah is an entirely different ball game. |

gboss4sure: Corruption in Nigeria has no particular tribe. As long as the trial is transparent and we can all see that they are guilty. If any tribe decide to go violent because a corrupt person from their tribe is executed on sentenced, then the Nigerian army will have some work to do. I will not fight for a corrupt person from my tribe, after all i did not benefit from it. I will only ask that the same sentence the person from my tribe gets, will be given to corrupt persons from other tribes. |

I said rawlings fought corruption, I did not say gej should kill, I said he should ensure they get whatever sentence is due for them. If he wants to end corruption he can. |

@op, Kindly state clearly any practical approach to deal with corruption that will not be misunderstood in this present situation of Nigeria. Just state them one by one, and I'll tell you how it will be frustrated. No one man can fight corruption. If we are to fight corruption in Nigeria, we will have to remove our minds from government fighting it for us. You think the President is the problem of Nigeria and corruption? Remove the president and you'll still see corruption. Anyway, clearly state the approach you think should be used and I will show you the other side to it. I'm waiting Let me help you in case you don't respond to me. we cannot be supporting our cult-like political parties and hope to fight corruption. because ALL politicians have the same overall objective. If you are sentimental, you will never agree with me. |

mekaboy: Humm.... The president making it a point of duty to ensure that any one charged is sentenced can be seen as arm twisting the judiciary and leading to impunity. Remember the president is a politician... what will happen when it goes against his interest. I understand your point but you are not being broad in your perspectives. |

Re: NIGERIA Would Have Been Far Better If GEJ Was Not Contesting 2015 by mekaboy(m): 2:45pm On Oct 21, 2013 |
duality: @op, To me it would be wise for the presidency to set up an agency to monitor other agencies. This agency can have people from anti corruption agencies in other parts of the world. Now this agency will be made up of auditors, accountants and lawyers. Their responsibility will be to investigate the investigators. Monitor judgments of the judiciary, the activities of efcc, police, icpc. When a case of corruption is brought up, they will follow up to ensure that justice is not sold. So while the efcc or icpc are investigating a case, they will follow up. If a judge takes bribe and gives wrong judgment, the agency will take on the judge. The presidency will not interfere in any case of corruption. |

mekaboy: Just saw this. I'll respond in details later. Now we have the judiciary and Police to protect the rights of Nigerians We also have The National Human Right commission and other right organisations. Have that stopped the violation of human rights by people and even law enforcement agents like the police? Please why is it so. you may answer this first later in the day I'll tell you more. |
Re: NIGERIA Would Have Been Far Better If GEJ Was Not Contesting 2015 by mekaboy(m): 4:40pm On Oct 21, 2013 |
duality: These agencies have become corrupt because of constant interference in the operations from the powers above. If not for the oga's at the top. If jonathan attacks the IG of police, it will affect the common officer at the check point. |

@OP. A little bit of the history of Nigeria will help you a bit! Jonathan is the change many of us have been crying for since. And rather than have these social misfits like Buhari and Tinubu take over power, then we must work very hard to split Nigeria. Let us go back to our respective nations before the demonic amalgamation by Luggard and his wicked generation! |

omenka: Whats valid with the OP saying that Jonathan's Ambition is Nigeria's problem? I hope you know how much was stolen through the fuel subsidy program? When he (GEJ) removed it in order to stop the looting what did Nigerians do? They all took to the streets and started making noise and he became the most hated man in Nigeria because he wants to do Good. |

With all the cases of corruption coming up including the NNPC diversion, I hope you will all believe that Jonathans ambition for 2015 will cost us alot. I am not saying he does not have the right to, I am saying he owes alot of peoole favors . This means turning a blind eye to corruption. |
