FG Hurriedly Approves Turkish Airline For Kano Route Amist BMW Saga by HAH: 10:14am On Oct 27, 2013 |
Sequel to the armoured car scandal and further leakage on infomation of the refusal of the minister of aviation to allow several airlines to land in kano and abuja, the FG has hurriedly approved for turkish airline to land in kano and Abuja 9 months after application. The approval was back dated. The minister hurriedly sign the approval to appease some power blogs mainly from the north inorder to ease the call for her sack before jetting out to israel. It was reliably gathered that, emirates, qatar, turkish and ethiopian airline have all applied for the kano route but were denied and instead were given the option of Enugu or PH airport, however all the airline refused but only ethiopian heeded by starting the Enugu route. http://dailytrust.info/index.php/news/8412-fg-grants-turkish-airlines-landing-permit-to-kano-abuja |

That will signal the death of enugu airport, they should also grant Ethiopia airline, etihad airline, emirate airway and qatariAirway who wish to land in mallam aminu kano international airport d right to land were ever they want. Ethiopia airline will prefer to land in kano airport rather than enugu. |

What is wrong with us in this country? Why not simply insist the airlines spread their business so that depending on where the passengers wish to go, airlines CAN use all airports! The tenets and principles of demand and supply will determine the best (and thus most sought after) destinations 1 Like |

We can begin to piece things together as to why the minister is being attacked. It is obvious the inflated car cost is being used as a guise by her detractors. The minister on her part hasn't covered herself in glory. Despite being the best aviation minister in recent times her position is now untenable. She'd have to do more than just approving airline take offs to stand a chance of retaining her job. All the same, She must be made to pay for her misdemeanour. |

blacksta: The Ultimate question remains - Why would airlines not want to come Enugu is it not a profitable route. No foreigner or even Nigerian will risk his/her life on that route if Ethiopian Airline is allowed to fly to Kano. Have you forgotten the high rate of kidnapping, robbery, child and adult molestation, cyber crime and other social vices in that land of the fading sun? I prefer to fly to Kano than to die in the hands of ibos in enugu. PH is still my route, no need to go to enugu airport where I will be robbed. |

Contrary to your assumptions and not so pleasant "pull them down" desires The reality is below Ethiopian airline will start using boeing 767 300er for Enugu flight starting from the 13th of November. Boeing 767 300er have more seating capacity than the one they are currently using(737 800) for Enugu route. It looks like passenger traffic has increased on the ETH - ENU route. odogwu-x: Is it right for her to kill kano airport by blocking all those airline who wish land in MAIA. Just to increase traffic at enugu. Let her give ehtiopian airline and the rest landing permit, why would somebody from Qatar, dubai, lebanon denied landing in kano and you want him to land in enugu before coming to kano? That is wickedness. Thank god dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has spoken. You better advice her if she want to sleep well. 3 Likes |

We would not be having this argument if Nigeria has an international Airline. The way foreign airlines compete is that they fly from the choice airport in their home countries and force competitors to unpopular airports. We need a Nigerian Airline. I deliberately avoid the phrase "National Carrier" |

The solution to all this bickering is to have Nigerian Airways back. If GEJ should do that it will really increase his credibilty even as I don't like him. What does it take to have Nigeria Airways back ? After all aeroplanes are not bought cash down but on credit or instalmental payment. If Nigerian Airways is resuscitated it will fly from all airports in Nigeria and when travelling abroad. You connect from any airport But here is our clueless government playing politics with airlines they don't own. |
