Gov. Mimiko Commissions 7 Mega Schools by Ayekotoo(m): 6:21pm On Oct 28, 2013
ONDO State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, at the weekend, rounded off his week-long commissioning exercise of seven mega schools in six towns in the state, with a declaration that salary of primary school teachers would be paid from source to individual accounts from this month.
The governor said the government would no longer tolerate the situation where unexplainable. deductions were made from teachers’ salary, adding that they should earn their full wages devoid of frivolous deductions.

The Mimiko-led administration had embarked on the building of 44 mega schools, five of which have been commissioned and already in use. The governor concluded with the commissioning of seven at the weekend, with another six due for commissioning in January 2014.
Governor Mimiko, last week, commissioned a mega school each in Idanre, Ilara-Mokin, Igbara -Oke, Akure, Ore, with two in Ondo. Rounding off with the commissioning exercise at the weekend in Ondo, Mimiko said the success recorded at the recently held staff audit at the local government level had brought sanity to the system, adding that teachers who scaled through the audit would henceforth enjoy the same privilege with other public servants in terms of prompt and electronic payment.

The governor said the staff audit had re- positioned the third tier of government for optimum productivity and performance, adding that the council areas were now fit to execute people’s oriented programmes.
He said the era when the state government used to augment council areas in the state with over N500 million monthly was over.
