Ngige’s meeting with Anambra
North rulers unsettles APGA

As the November 16 governorship
election in Anambra State draws
nearer, the All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA) has been thrown
into tension following the visit of
the All Progressives Congress
(APC) candidate, Chris Ngige, to
the monarchs of Anambra North
senatorial zone.
APGA, which has Willie Obiano
from Anambra North Senatorial
Zone as its candidate, is currently
uncomfortable with the meeting
between Ngige and the
monarchs, who prayed for the
Senator over the election.
But, APGA state chairman, Mike
Kwentoh, told reporters that there
was nothing like that, adding that
the party is not moved by the
meeting.
While the meeting was going on,
wards filtered into the Governors
Lodge, Amawbia, near Awka, that
Ngige has finally settled with the
monarchs of Anambra North
senatorial district for their
support instead of Obiano, and
that the royal fathers had passed
a vote of no confidence on the
APGA candidate.
Immediately after the meeting,
some of the monarchs were called
and queried on phone for holding
meeting with Ngige.
It was also alleged that they were
threatened that the vehicles given
to them by state government
would be forcefully recovered
from them this week.
Reacting to the report, the
chairman of Anambra North
Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe
Roland Odegbo, dismissed the
threat as sheer pettiness.
He contended that Ngige is from
Anambra State and has the right
to campaign in any part of the
state and that the monarchs have
no apology for anybody.
He asked: “What is wrong about
Sen. Chris Ngige visiting us and
holding meetings with us?
“He wrote a letter that he wants
to hold a meeting with us. We
replied him and asked him to
come.
“We received him in my palace
and he told us to support him. As
traditional rulers, we do not go
into politics and we prayed for
him so that God will guide and
protect him in his election. What is
wrong about that?”
Odegbo argued that “anybody
who feels bad about it is only
being funny and highly
unreasonable at this point.
“Our brother, Willie Obiano, is not
campaigning in Anambra North
alone. Obiano goes everywhere
for his campaign and nobody is
stopping him. So what about
Ngige?
“We say it is our turn for the
people of Anambra North zone to
produce governor, but that does
not mean that Ngige should not
come to us.
“When he was governor of
Anambra State, he did very well. If
Ifeanyi Ubah of Labour Party
comes to Anambra North, we shall
receive him and listen to him.
“Anyone who feels unhappy
about that can go bury his head
in shame for all that we care. We
all are Anambra people and
politics cannot stand between
us”.
At the meeting, Ngige announced
that he will ensure great
infrastructural development in
Anambra North senatorial zone.
Ngige disclosed that if he is
elected, he will develop the zone
beyond their imagination.

Later some little Anambrians will be sitting in his father's rented house in Lagos with his TECNO phone and be saying all sort of rubbish about who is in charge or not.

In this day and age, politics is not won by empty noise and assumptions....it is more of brain work and grassroot mobilisation.

Lol, so the former bench warmers come to speak to you people and u all rush to hear him spew trash, even knowing deep down within yasef that he won't do nothing worthwhile. U people should go and be deceiving yasef. Ngige will must probably win cos people seem to prefer him but then again thats nothing specials. It just confirms what our politicians know already of Nigerians. Nigerians have short term memory.

Its obvious that these APC clowns see APGA,Obi and Obiano in their dreams. While Obiano is busy selling his manifesto to the people, Ngige and co are busy with slander and cheap propaganda. Well, November 16 is almost here.
