It was said that before Abibatu Mojagi (RIP) passed on, she picked the daughter of Tinubu to succeed her as the Ilaloja of Lagos so it is neither a Family Title nor an act of Power but it was a step to RESPECT the former Iyaloja.

I am not a FAN of the choice though but in the wake of Abibatu Mojagi's Wish, Let it Be.

An iyaloja is one given to someone most deserving of the role, if you walk into any market you can tell who the unspoken leader is. You cant bring someone who has not not built a reputation and impose on market people. It just wouldnt work even if the person's last name is Awolowo. It is just never done like so.
She has nothing to offer those market people and that would cause conflict in the near future.
