My girlfriend of 4months recently complained that I don’t call her pet names like baby, honey, boo etc. Names couples normally call each other. After a long argument I told her I don’t do pet names, so we should keep events on first name basis (the truth is I do but I didn’t like the way she was demanding it). Then she broke down and said I never really liked her. Hence my question, is it necessary to use pet names in a relationship and do they truly depict how you genuinely feel about your partner?
