Please my fellow Nairalanders and computer lovers. The dark side of maintaining a PC is the backend when programming and hardware installation and software loading when we clone. Now i have a problem that I magically overcome but now I want to know it for sure.

Problem: I want to reformat my Hard with Windows 2000 Professional. The same OS is what the PC has but I discover after running some anti-spys and anti-virus programs, the same PC always 'eat up' or deplete my bandwith cos I have a network of few PCs. I put the CD Rom to re-install the OS but I dont know for sure how to make Ist boot Device a CD ROM. This is my problem. Right now what I see after entering ADVANCED SETUP is
TREND CHIPAWAYVIRUS ENABLED
SHARED MEMORY SIZE  160MB
Ist Boot Device  IDE-0
2nd Boot Device Floppy
3rd Boot Devie  CDROM

Please how do I make 3rd to become the Ist? From there I will fly.

Meanwhile each time I do changes on my CMOS, the dates keep coming back with different. Imagine July 15, 2013 and the other 2015. After I pressed F10 and existed properly. What is it? Last time I had to change my batter but it persists.

Change your CMOS battery, but B carfull or else shit will hit the fence.

Thanks. It's not much of trouble. It is just that when one prints it carries the incorrect date. I can't change the boards but some are relatively new. Some are a year old even. Got then when robbers invaded my place and took away my Laptops. I resort to Desktops all through.

Hey gee,
From your cmos setup, use your up down botton when you get to cd-rom press enter. it automatically comes up to become your first boot sequence.
