A friend of mine called me last week and ask me if I have downloaded BBM. I told him No that work has been very stressful lately and moreover, downloading BBM would make have an extra battery.

But to my greatest surprise, I downloaded BBM on Sunday and since then, I have been actively using it and it seems not to have much effect on my battery. Its just like any other app.
