Awon omo ale arungun! waste! waste!! waste!!! the woman died from a motor accident on the road her son-in-law's administration should have fixed. I'm sure the deceased didn't get a fraction of the amount expended on her burial (turned funfair) while she was alive. And see the retinue of sycophants!!! mind boggling. To you idiots taking sides with these criminals turned politicians...can't you see that they are united in plundering our resources? Keep up the ethnic fighting while they steal all of our collective wealth. I have lost hope in this country. |

OYINBOGOJU: No matter what you say about General Abacha's corruption, the fact is that to any unbiased Nigerian, his wife, Mrs. Maryam Abacha, was the only First Lady ever that deployed her status to seek to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerian women and children. She raised funds to build the HOSPITAL FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN at Abuja that the shameless Aremu converted to NATIONAL HOSPITAL ABUJA. That hospital's name ought to be changed to MARYAM ABACHA WOMEN'S HOSPITAL. Many people will die of hypertension before the next election. It's s fact. Every propropaganda of the opposition of the government is magnified by all the small minded people on NL. When the Abachas were in power the same gullible people were criticising every move Mrs Abacha made. Now they are singing her praises. Some of the sadistic people on here don't even know what a billion naira looks like that's why they are calling the funeral a 7billion naira event. Ignorant pigs! They are ready to feed on any stupid information without thinking it through first. These are the so called 'leaders' of the future. 1 Like |

Deschil: Oh please, there are many things to be upset about in this country. Do you think I am not upset? But do I have to show disrespect? No. Do I have to believe every ridiculous rumour (N7bn) without investigation? NO!!! Like I said: EVEN IF ITS N1... |

Gabbysky: What you need corrected is your brain. Even if it is Niger-Delta money, then spend it on developing your home Region and making it a 1st World Environment, not 2 people inviting friends and sycophants over to celebrate a dead woman whom (as far as we know) contributed nothing of worth to her society. |

Even in Sokoto state where I lived, Maryam Abacha's Women and Children's hospital still exist with almost free medical services to whoever cares to visit. Even late Mrs Stella Obansanjo (GOD REST HER SOUL) contributed her own quarter to the helpless via her ophanages and other charity foundations. That's what women in power should consider as one of their pet projects and not how to build a 10-STAR hotel lol |

I wonder where the real children of the late woman were. They were completely relegated to the background. ideally they are supposed to wear dsame cloth with the first lady and occuppy the front seat with her. |

This is so very wrong! What is the essence of this proligate funeral ceremony? To what end? To what benefit? This should not be at all. It is very wrong. |
