Lately I've been waist-deep in Islamic studies, and decided to take it an inch further today by flexing my hands on some Islamic art. I imprinted the laali tatoo on a co-worker (a Muslim lady and a friend). This particular motif is of Malian roots.

To an extent it will. But you can try to draw from observation of live objects, I mean objects that you can see. That will then help you start to visualize
